Go Gophers!!
Making Tim Brewster look reasonable and well-prepared.They even went so far as to make sure nobody was there to cheer for them.
But seriously, this is the dumbest thing I think I've ever heard from a coach
Good lord.
He literally has nothing left at this point. Coyle would be doing him a favor to just end it now as opposed to letting it go another week and a half.
Go Gophers!!
Circling the drain. March 10, 2 pm press conference.
Go Gophers!!
This has got to be the lowest point EVER in Gopher basketball. Your coach is trying to fool his players (what do you think is going through their minds with this foolishness and then Ben giving a pregame talk as if they're on the road - what does that even sound like?) into a mindset they are on the road?? These aren't 4th graders... I think they understand they're not on the road wtf?? This is off the rails crazy and yes, this ALONE should be enough to get him fired! He literally has nothing left at this point. Coyle would be doing him a favor to just end it now as opposed to letting it go another week and a half.
Trying to create a road environment at home.....wtf is that? This has to be rock bottom, whatever positivity there was from the 6-3 stretch with some good wins mixed in has been obliterated over these past couple of games.
I had no idea Lavin was coaching. However, I'd kinda be surprised if he got fired. I know nothing about the program or school and their athletics. If Steve Lavin is out at San Diego, perhaps Ben would like a soft landing in California.
Iowa has this, too. The game on Saturday had Washington shooting into the sun in the second half.I had no idea Lavin was coaching. However, I'd kinda be surprised if he got fired. I know nothing about the program or school and their athletics.
But, I did look and Lavin is playing 12 guys 17 or more minutes per game. That is not common. He has one guy averaging double figures at 14. Five of their top top eight players transferred from last years team which was better. But those transfers are not doing much for their new teams...definitely diminished stats. My conclusion talent is an issue and they likely have very little NIL money.
Maybe he gets one year of revenue sharing to make progress?
Side note of the San Diego sun streaming into their gym: Blake had a gym back in the day with big windows on one end. Because they didn't want to distract from studies they played home games at 3:00 in the afternoon. The sun was blinding!!! Optimally timed for our half at that basket. Literally could not see the rim on one end of the court. Naturally, Blake was used to it and had all the secrets to score on the sun end. I don't remember...maybe the sun was a non issue for them, their half at that end.
Lousy coaching, lousy scouting...no clue what we were walking into. We lost to a really lousy Blake team with refs in white tennis shoes in front of four spectators.
No problem...not bitter...it only happened over 50 years ago.
Go Gophers!!
Brew actually had a far more successful tenure at the U than Ben has.Making Tim Brewster look reasonable and well-prepared.
Sad but true.Brew actually had a far more successful tenure at the U than Ben has.
We litigated this about a month ago, and it's actually not true.Brew actually had a far more successful tenure at the U than Ben has.

Based on what? Brewster was 6-21 in the Big Ten.Sad but true.
People forget Brewster went to bowls in 2/3 seasons as HCBrew actually had a far more successful tenure at the U than Ben has.
