Jett Walker flips to MN

Let me know when a coach, any coach, accepts 3 different jobs in 3 weeks.
If you don’t think the hot names are interviewing/having discussions and having their representation do work for them while in season, I can’t help you. How do you think Fleck was hired so quickly after the season? Lane Kiffin right now? May not be a like for like but principle is the same.

When he was at Western, did Fleck announce his commitment to take the Cincinnati job, only to decommit from that to accept the Kansas State job 2 weeks later, only to decommit again a week after that to take the Minnesota job? No he didn’t, so your comparison is nonsense. We’re talking about a kid who committed to 3 different programs over the course of 3 weeks. Fleck moved from one job to a bigger and better job, yes, but has stayed at that job for 9 years. The levels of commitment aren’t remotely comparable.

I think this is the problem with expanding the roster to 105. I understand why they did it, but now Texas and all the schools above us get 20 extra kids per year that are better than the old walk on that would normally be taking up that spot.
Keep the relationship going and make a run at them when they inevitably go in the portal next year

That's different than pulling a Josh McDaniel, accepting job, hiring staff from other jobs, than backing out and effing everyone over

I’ll just get back to the initial comment-sorry that you are upset at a 17 year old taking what he feels is a better opportunity. Commitments aren’t legally binding contracts

You keep dodging your own arguments every time you make one. So I'll just go back to my initial comment, that a kid committing to 3 schools in 3 weeks must've had some top notch guidance, from coaches, parents, agent, whomever.

So he's going to take the Penn State job, then back out of that, then accept the Florida job and ultimately decline that, then finally decide to go to LSU?
Honestly, would you be shocked?

The only scenario I can recall of something like this was when Mason was still at Kansas and accepted the Georgia job, then backed out a week later and stayed at Kansas.

Better offers. Kid blew up a bit at the end. Sorry to miss on him but good for him on his Texas landing spot.

Fleck coming here is probably a bad example, but you're right. Fleck was coming here and was in the works before Claeys' one full season even started.

Your initial comment followed by mine:
3 schools in 3 weeks! That young man's getting some top-notch guidance.
I always love the “honor your commitment” crowd. Dont take the better money or what you feel is the better opportunity? We never expect coaches to be held to the same standard, why would we expect 17 year old kids to be held to it.

So yeah I think adults whining about kids trying to make more money or go to a better situation is sad. Sorry if it wasn’t clear initially but yeah coaches sniff around and try to climb the ladder just like players. Other posters agree it happens-I’m simply saying it’s petty to attack their support system. Everyone from the outside always knows better.

You are making a valiant effort but the other posters can't seem to figure out that the only thing you were taking issue with was acting like players flip flopping on commitments is somehow the same as coaches leaving for other jobs.

His initial comment was “he’s getting top notch guidance.” I did refer to the coaching stuff and if you feel that is a bad example I get that. Bottom line is I’m saying why blame kids or attack their support system for doing what they feel is best for them development wise or financially?
