I think that also fits in the playing time narrative. If a kid believes he was under-recruited, he may choose a program where he is going to see the field early in his career and hopefully perform at a level that will entice higher-level programs to seek him out as a transfer. In the current environment, the low-to-mid programs may end up serving as a feeder system to the upper echelon of programs,

I believe @Word was referring to give it a year at the helmet school and then transfer down, kinda like all the tOSU quarterbacks except the one who starts.
