It was Barnard's nephew, not his son. Tom Barnard said he and Dubay only spoke a couple of times. His involvement was limited, the only tie was that Dubay was broadcasting his podcast through Barnard's network.I don't think it's been discussed in this thread, but Bob Sansevere and Tom Barnard have a relationship. Sansevere is the sports director on a morning show that Barnard hosts. It seems to be a conflict of interest (at best) for Sansevere to have written this article about Dubay and Barnard's son.
I don't care at all for Dubay's takes on the Gophers, but I do feel like people might be jumping to conclusions as to who is at fault in this latest disagreement. The other thing is talking about sports for a living is quite a privilege and you'd hope that Dubay (or anyone else) would appreciate a second (third?) chance to do just that.
Publicly burning bridges - especially when your job is to "communicate" with the public - is a really, really bad idea. Doobie can't seem to stop digging his own grave.
Dubay has landed, he's now doing 5-minute major podcasts multiple times a week for Northland Sports Online http://northlandsportsonline.com/category/jeffdubayradio/
