$6m total?

That'll take $3m in NIL.

If the basketball team gets the speculated 15% of the speculated $20.5m rev sharing, that's a little over $3m for men's basketball. ($3.075 to be exact).
Not "$4m which should be closer to $5m."

Where you getting 4 closer to 5? Are we robbing PJ and the football team? I doubt it, and hope not.

I'm sorry, but anyone believing random NIL numbers from "sources" inside the program are wild. You don't think they've got some reason to say he got a big NIL deal? Everyone has an agenda, unless these things are standardized and public I don't believe these numbers for a split second.

I heard it was closer to $678,419.32. I have no idea if that is true or not, but the precision should make it more realistic.

Nobody friggin' knows squat, and until we have salary caps and contracts, it will remain a giant guessing game. In my own world, only my wife, my manager, my manager's manager, HR and myself know what I make annually. Sharing compensation information is quite frowned upon, if not potentially a fireable offense.

I have heard tales of these mythical unicorns roaming the land. Haven't seen them in these parts in quite a long time. What does 76% even look like? It must be magical!
 

I think people are getting way too caught up in the money. First off, no one really knows, so these numbers are 100% pure guesses. He could be getting 800k, he could be getting 80k, none of us have any idea so why guess. Also, hes in so who cares what he's getting!

Until there are contracts it's useless to guess, he got money, we need more. That's all at need to know and do know for sure

I got the number from the father of a Sr student manager. So could they be upset at losing players to schools that can play more. Is it possbile its $600k to $800k, and they are using the higher number to show that CSU cant pay that, sure.

Yeah...that's some unreliable narration my guy. It's nice to have sources, but these sources certainly have an agenda to sell.
 

Solid first add. If this is the top player we sign it’ll be disappointing, hopefully there will be a couple good ones coming.

Everyone here said the same thing about our PG and PF last year…
 

When I watched Cherry in the sectional final, I was told by someone who knows Isaac's parents that he got $200k NIL last year. If a college offered him $700k he would have left. I am guessing the gophers at least doubled his NIL to keep him.

Other tidbits, his younger brother Noah, probably will play baseball for the U, but he also is a very good db in football at 6' 190lbs and was said to run 4.6 or less. Similar size to Koi.

Issac's cousin Isiah, the 6-1 sophomore, is super talented at basketball and if he gets to the 6-3 height Issac has, I would bet he will be a top 100 player.
 

It's safe to say that whatever guys got last year, the price is doubled with revenue sharing. $800K still seems high as $400K this year would put him in Dawson Garcia territory.

It is entirely legal to ask and give out salary information. HR staff that tell you otherwise are a bunch of liars and cheats. The law of the land forbids it to be private. Do you want me to name the law and the court cases? It seems an unncecessary step.

Can you imagine being a guy who loves basketball but isn't...fill in the the blank...quick enough, tall enough, doesn't shoot well etc whatever it is....but he's good enough, personable enough to be the 13th man at 18,19 years old and make $100,000 a basketball season to wave a towel and get a degree on top of it.. Dang, I was born at the wrong time. That'd be sweet.

Revenue sharing projections are public knowledge. It's been posted here at GH about 6m times. But here ya go:

This is all pending final judicial approval, of course. A max of $20.5m.

What percentage goes to football, MBB, and other sports hasn't been detailed, but clearly most will go to football.


Most projections place MBB at ~15%.

$20.5m × 15% = A little over $3m.

To get to your $6m there will need to be roughly $3m in NIL.

This isn't that tough to figure out.

Here's what I heard....Niko knows Ziggy through his dad. Niko said, I see you got quite a bit of cap space there with your Vikings....Do you think you could chip in just $5 million I could use as signing bonuses for my Gopher basketball guys? Ziggy said, happy to help.
I might be off on the guy he asked...I might be off on the amount he got...but it fits nicely in the thread.

Why would parents be telling their friends how much money their kid is making? Is there no sense of privacy or decorum left?
