Jaylen Crocker-Johnson to MN!

You could just admit you were talking out your ass, but no.

Revenue sharing projections are public knowledge. It's been posted here at GH about 6m times. But here ya go:

This is all pending final judicial approval, of course. A max of $20.5m.

What percentage goes to football, MBB, and other sports hasn't been detailed, but clearly most will go to football.

Most projections place MBB at ~15%.

$20.5m × 15% = A little over $3m.

To get to your $6m there will need to be roughly $3m in NIL.

This isn't that tough to figure out.
I like you, you are funny. I clearly said everything was a projection just like you said your data is.

Per Coyle we want our revenue sharing % to be higher towards basketball with a goal of NIL and Rev sharing to put us between $5-6 million. It's not that hard to figure out what he said. Do you need me to link it for you or can you use Google?

Why would you use 15%? Because an article from August said that? Because most projections places put us there? There are around 360 D1 basketball programs. Do you think any place will have all of the correct projections? Do you think the "experts" have any clue when they do preseason rankings? Or do they go based off coaches past success?

At the end of the day I know two things are true. We are all just talking out of our ass or we wouldn't be here. And you can find anything on the internet to support an opinion.

I think people are getting way too caught up in the money. First off, no one really knows, so these numbers are 100% pure guesses. He could be getting 800k, he could be getting 80k, none of us have any idea so why guess. Also, hes in so who cares what he's getting!

Until there are contracts it's useless to guess, he got money, we need more. That's all at need to know and do know for sure
I agree with everything in your post but the first sentence. It really is all about the money now. Whatever the number is this year for roster construction, it will be chump change next year. And the year after. That's why we are at such a competitive disadvantage having Coyle run the department. Coaches of major programs don't have time to cultivate big donors. The sales cycle can take months to years and it's time intensive. That's the AD's job. I have yet to read an announcement of a major gift to gopher sports that wasn't tied to a sales or promotions goal.

Niko was a very good hire. However, he was hired to run a basketball program. Not run a hoops program and raise $20-30M on his own.

I heard it was closer to $678,419.32. I have no idea if that is true or not, but the precision should make it more realistic.

Nobody friggin' knows squat, and until we have salary caps and contracts, it will remain a giant guessing game. In my own world, only my wife, my manager, my manager's manager, HR and myself know what I make annually. Sharing compensation information is quite frowned upon, if not potentially a fireable offense.
It’s like sitting at a bar where a guy is telling you what a Big Swinging D he is, as he gasps at the price of a beer.

FWIW, I’m guessing more of the contributions to the NiL are earmarked for football by their donors.

I got the number from the father of a Sr student manager. So could they be upset at losing players to schools that can play more. Is it possbile its $600k to $800k, and they are using the higher number to show that CSU cant pay that, sure.
Was it AJ Barker's Moms best friend? She gets around.

It is entirely legal to ask and give out salary information. HR staff that tell you otherwise are a bunch of liars and cheats. The law of the land forbids it to be private. Do you want me to name the law and the court cases? It seems an unncecessary step.
I said fireable, not illegal.

Cause drama. Get noticed. End up on someone's sh*tlist. Guess whose head is sticking out above the trenches the next time they make a round of cuts? Seen several picked off that way over the years. Best to keep your powder dry. ;)

I really have no idea who or what you are talking about. Round of cuts? Players? Coaches? Fans? Posters?

I guess it's kinda magical if you look at it from the correct angle

My best guess is there has been a misunderstanding. The 76 is actually a reference to the number of trombones in a big parade somewhere.
Or maybe to the birth of our nation.

Best I can come up with that makes any sense at all...

You all are the most worthless group of humans I have ever come across. We just got a commitment from (at worst) a decent role player. To bring our roster tally to 3. Give Niko a thumbs up and stop giving a **** about what we may have rumored to pay the guy.

We're there any coronets close at hand in this big parade?

This is one of the guys I’d hoped would follow Medved. Maybe unfair and dumb, but I feel like he could be in the Jordan Murphy mold.
I didn't see much comparison in their playing styles but hopefully he can make the same contributions towards winning basketball as Murphy. Really good addition by Nacho.

Can't say I've ever watched him play but with the size and some three point ability is he similar to what Brandon Johnson was for the Gophers?

Glad that Niko has brought JCJ into the fold. This is a good start but Niko needs to bring in guys at the next level. I hope he can bring in at least one with some chops. Good luck with that. Comparison's of JCJ to Murphy are lacking at this point but who knows as he is still developing.

I have said this with every major hire that the Gophers have made recently. Winning big and often is a huge uphill challenge. Niko will soon find that out. But I believe that four years down the road the hoops program will be in better shape than after four years of Johnson. The same can be said with PJ after nine seasons but we are still far short of the Blue Bloods.

National championships or even being in the position of playing for one is a distant unrealistic dream as the playing field is not level or even fair. Vikings? Twins? Wild? They have a much better chance than the Gophers. And its not even close.

Good luck Niko!

And your point is????

Can you imagine being a guy who loves basketball but isn't...fill in the the blank...quick enough, tall enough, doesn't shoot well etc whatever it is....but he's good enough, personable enough to be the 13th man at 18,19 years old and make $100,000 a basketball season to wave a towel and get a degree on top of it.. Dang, I was born at the wrong time. That'd be sweet.
I'm going to say this once. You still have eligibility left. Be the 15th player on the roster.

Not sure I buy that the towel waivers deep on the bench are pulling down 6 figures but it would be a hell of a time to be a college basketball player right now with all the stupid money getting thrown around.

Just a few more players to go. I saw the news last night. Looked at his stats and he has talent. Is it enough for Big 10 play, we will see.

If the most worthless humans you've ever met are people wondering how much we are paying people in pay-for-play sports association, you've really lived a peaceful life. These guys are getting paid by fans through NIL collectives and BTN subscriptions- it's firmly within the business of the fanbase.

Go see every single signing the Vikings made this season, there are discussions about the salary. Hell, ESPN usually leads with it "player X signs 4 year 22 million dollar deal". All sports fans care. They especially care in situations where there is only a finite amount of money to pay the players.

For those confused by the tweet, his freshman year was at Little Rock and he transferred to CSU for last season.

Nice to see him become a 3PT threat, shooting 35% on 4 attempts per game last season.
The Barn with it's raised floor and the dark background, and depth perception, will bring that down. ;)
