It's clearly a code and I've totally broken it:

1. The jersey numbers in the picture spell out 1171111
2. Charity #1171111 is The Bikeability Trust
3. The Bikeability Trust is based out of England
4. The name England comes from a Germanic tribe called the Angles
5. Kurt Angle was an NCAA heavyweight champion wrestler, Olympic champion, and WWE wrestler
6. That's the same career path for one Gable Steveson
7. Gable Steveson attended the University of Minnesota
8. Jaxon Howard will be a Gopher

Didn't Quinn Carroll and other top Minnesota players do something like that? I only treat it as a feel-good list. How many times have our hearts broken before?

I get what you are saying but Howard seems genuinely interested in MN. Doesn’t just feel like throwing the hometown team a bone with him.
 


I don't think we will ever know...but it would be fun to know the NIL offers from all four schools.
Cars have to be involved at all four schools, don't they? That can't be that hard to arrange....at least the use of.

It always feels that way about the ones that break your heart the hardest.
 




My gut tells me he's a gopher. He's the kid who tips the scales... And gives us that first "star" power.... We have to remember "Giants rumble before they awaken"
 

June 10-12 will be an important weekend with all of the recruits coming in for their official visits. Fleck better have an amazing experience weekend planned.

He probably has nothing planned. They may just forget about it. Maybe send a bus to get the kids at the airport and get them some nachos at Sally’s.

I mean no offense, but I am so bored with this commonly repeated take. Just because Carroll (or others) didn't pick us the first time doesn't mean we weren't a genuine finalist. Would we prefer if top local talent didn't consider us at all? I agree that it would be nice to win a few more battles (we have won a fair share, by the way), but some on here seem to think it's some sort of conspiracy when a local player considers us but goes elsewhere. Some seem to take it as a personal attack on them when a high school kid considers us, but chooses another. It makes sense to me to keep the possibility open to stay home, even if you're pretty sure you'll go elsewhere. High schoolers change their minds all the time. Complaining about their choice or claiming a grand conspiracy to manipulate the local media and fan base seems petulant and arbitrary.

Jaxon Howard may well choose to go elsewhere, but I choose to take his word that we are among the final four teams he's considering. (The simplest explanation...) At the end of the day, I hope he chooses the experience Coach Fleck can provide over the potential payday in Miami.
