Hawkins was not a Soumi from the Iron Range. Also, if you listened to Barreiro's interview with Niko, you realize that Niko's dad was a Ranger from Biwabik. That's a good connection in regard to the Asuma family. Both families know what it's like to roll up your sleeves and get to work.

I'd like Grove to stick around and see what we have. I know that some people aren't super high on him but I think he can grow into a contributor at the Big 10 level.

For sure. Hawk is a winner as well. The departure of those two guys and the idea that he could go to a better team and collect double the money had to be a little too much to take. I will always think that Hawkins original "I'm staying" was an attempt to bring the rest of the team on board to follow him.
