I sure hope Evans comes. That kid is one of the better shooters in college ball (44% from 3s on the year!). Great opportunity to stick with his coach and move up to a bigger conference...and get paid of course.Better question - is Lake coming with him as a grad transfer?!? Thank you Mr. "Give me the mother f’in ball" Queen
The question is what airplane Medved gets on next.

Minneapolis bound
We fired Ben for a guy we passed up 4 yrs ago? Inconceivable.
4 years ago I would have been happier with a Niko hire than when we hired Ben, but that’s not saying much at all. Even if he likely would have given us 4 way better years than we got, his profile to move up wasn’t that strong at that point. In 2021 Niko had a history of improving programs but also 0 NCAA bids and barely a winning record. At any point in time there are a handful of guys like that, and even if it panned out, going with him would have been yet another crappy “he’s one of us” decisions.Passed up and proceeded to make three tournaments in four years including two at-large selections. Worked out for the best.
Ben laid the groundwork for him.We fired Ben for a guy we passed up 4 yrs ago? Inconceivable.
I no longer believe he is coming. Somehow, in eight hours of sleep and a morning doom scroll, I have given up hope. Blame 50 years of inept support for athletes at Minnesota for making me believe that this school is designed to indoctrinate accepting losing as an option. We have a college that believes it is okay to go to battle and take the sword to the gut because every other soldier ends up with a sword in the gut. It is normalized like that is the way life is supposed to be. Just take it. It is normal to be assassinated. Lower your expectation, boys. You're at the U of M. No need to be toxic here!
I'll tell you what toxic is. Toxic is accepting the sword to the gut. That is true toxicity. Teaching young men to expect being a casualty is toxic. Expecting to be a lower-level cog in someone else's play is toxic. I want a return to the warrior ethos, the winner takes all, conquer the world mentality. I want the manifest destiny returned to the core of our existence.
Why would Niko want to come here? We won't even invest in ourselves with a better arena just because we want to. We are led to believe that lower expectations are nostalgic and better than having the best facility around. What introverted stupidity are we selling ourselves? I don't think any of us would say we couldn't be the baddest kingdom around just because in winter the sun doesn't shine. I know. We are not a kingdom. We are a basketball program at a university. We should try to conquer with it and dominate basketball. Any acceptance of the "well, half of teams lose on any given day" mentality needs to end today.
Let's go to Colorado. Rent a van and kidnap Niko and explain to him our earnest desire to be badass in Minnesota. If he isn't interested. We come home. We listen to our therapist. We pour ourselves a stiff drink. We promise our wives we'll be simps. We express our regrets to Niko before the judge. What could go wrong?
