I have mixed feelings. Discuss.

Good for the Gophers and good for the Big Ten. "Do you want to play in the Big Ten?" ... all of the conference coaches will be saying that.

This is absolutely great for the Gophers and the Big Ten!

Why would it be bad for the Gophers? Seriously what is the point of this thread? am I missing something?

I agree. Why would this be bad? Can you explain your mixed feelings?

Many media folks complain about the raised floor at Williams .. No talk about the raised floor in Atlanta. It seems about the same height. Always enjoyed the look of the "stage."

Most complain about the danger of playing at Williams. There is way more room to run off the floor at most final four events.

As long as its not Bucky or Iowa....I'm all in for the Big Ten - Go Michigan!

The point of this thread is to discuss how Michigan "winning it all" would be good or bad for the Gophers. I thought the title was pretty self-explanatory.

There are those on this board (football and basketball) that only want to "play the best". Let's schedule the Alabamas and Dukes of the world in the non-conference. If we can't "play the best", it's not worth it. These folks would rather go .500 in a conference that is stacked than "win it all" in a conference that is down.

The question is getting at that mentality. And for the record, I side with that. I say, let's play the best. Bring them on.

Here's the flip side:

If the other 11 B1G teams tanked over the next 4 years and the Gophers won the B1G Championship in a conference with no other ranked opponents, would you be any less happy as a Gopher fan? I believe when the Gophers did well in the late 90's that was partially the case, right?

I see Michigan in the Final Four and I think, "the rich get richer". Just wondering if anyone has had those thoughts.

I think it's great. It looks good for our conference and it helps recruiting IMO. Do you want to play in wimpy SEC or the Big Ten which is the best conference in basketball.

I always cheer for the Big Ten except for Wisconsin. I just can't cheer for them.

Big Ten fan here. The conference matters - old school - I realize. So, yes I would be less happy.

On the flip side, isn't Louisville winning it all good for us? Richard can walk into a recruit's home and say, "Hey, my dad just won a championship and I'm going to do a lot of the same stuff he does."

Boom!

Watching the Wichita St / Louisville game .. Baker for WS is a really nice player... for a freshman who missed many games this year.

If Michigan wins I will expect a tweet from Esposito regarding our RPI taking a jump up.

I think the better question to ask may have been, which is better for the Gophers - Louisville or Michigan winning? I'm torn.

A Louisville-Michigan title game will suffice, with Michigan winning. Then next year we can hope for:

2 games vs. the defending national champs (if we play Michigan twice)

1 game vs. Louisville (if Lil' Ricky) can get that home-and-home scheduled with Pop

Possibly get Syracuse at some point in the Maui Invitational

Would be cool to get 3 or 4 games vs. the previous year's Final Four.

Michigan next year is going to be a much different team, but your point is well taken. I'd like to see us play Wichita State...dreaming I know, but still. Why is Kevin Ware sitting all alone under one of the baskets? Must see TV?? He probably wants to be on the bench with his team ... no?

Confused....the media always gets down on the Big Ten once it comes to Bowl games and the NCAA Tourney....why wouldn't you want Michigan to win and make the Big Ten look good?

I didn't realize he was under the basket. I just figured he was on the bench. Weird.

John Beilein seems like a great guy and has great players. Good for the Gophers and B1.G

I don't get why he's there or he'd be on the bench. I do understand that he wants to be there for his team, but what happens if someone goes barreling into the stands and lands on his freshly repaired leg?

I never win anything and I filled out two brackets this year with a Mich/Louisville final and Mich as the winner. Getting closer.....

It looked to me like Ware was on the far end of Lousiville's bench and he was sitting in a chair with his arm leaning against the raised floor. Did I miss something where he was sitting under the basket?

Here's hoping they win. So tired of hearing about the Syracuse zone.

Yes, he was out past the end of the bench, out of harm's way.
