Not really sure I should even dignify that question with a response but obviously the evaluations of coaches and scouting on their own is way more important than the recruiting services. Recruiting services are more for the fans as opposed to the coaches who are doing their own evaluations.
In the case of Johnson....he was evaluated and recruited by a number of power 4 teams (MN included) but only offered by G5 and FCS schools until Nebraska came in really really late and offered him a scholarship. Chances are that was after their primary plans fell through but regardless it worked out great for them and Johnson.
In a perfect world, every quality football player from Minnesota would play for the Gophers but of course that isn't how it works.
