Iowa vs. NDSU..... Dilemma, who to root for...???

2016, in the third game of another insanely easy Iowa schedule, NDSU plays at Iowa City.

As much as we all hate Iowa, and could possibly benefit in some way by a loss, I have a hard time with the thought of feeding the beast that is the Bison fanbase.

Curious about the thoughts of the "finer" GopherHole members.

May Godzilla rise up and destroy Kinnick Stadium in the first quarter.

On a side note: sans Godzilla, a NDSU win would be a black-eye for the B1G West.

Easy Call. Root for NDSU. I don't like their fans either, but Ioaw is in a whole different stratosphere of hate.

NDSU I think it's cute that they think they matter to us. Besides, never root for Iowa, unless they play Wisconsin and even then it's tough
 

I hate both with a fiery passion. To me, it's an easy call to root for Iowa. It helps keep NDAC in their rightful place.
 

I have absolutely zero hate for NDSU, I dont' think about them at all. I always want Iowa and Wisconsin to lose. We don't need to root against the NDAC, that's a loser mindset. It's like Ohio St rooting against the MAC.
 

Root for NDSU because they are not a rival despite what Bison fans think. I would feel the same way if I didn't live in Fargo.

None of this will matter. Iowa is going to stomp NDSU.
 



NDSU obviously. We actually play against Iowa, games against NDSU should just be a memory with the new B1G rules regarding FCS teams.
 

Looks like a huge 'who cares' game to me.

Their fans have every reason to be excited / proud.
 

Is this even a question? You root for NDSU.

LOTS of Minnesota kids on that team. Easy answer.
 




I have the perfect solution. I want the game to go about 6 or 7 overtimes, leaving both teams so shot and beat up that they both get butt-whipped the following week.
 

If you know both NDSU fans and pig fans it's no contest. Pull fro Iowa as NDSU thinks they should be in the Division one final two!!

Who cares? We pull whatever recruits we want away from them. I don't care if St Thomas thinks they could beat us either, I will root for them against Mt Union.
 

Living in Fargo makes this a difficult decision. There are too many people around town that think NDSU can compete every week with the Alabama's of the world yet alone a team like the Gophers. There was an article written in the Fargo Forum earlier this fall from some fan about how NDSU would be just as good in the FBS and the FCS champion should play the FBS champion at the end of the year blah blah blah.

With that being said there is no real reason we would want Iowa to win. An Iowa loss can only benefit the Gophers next year whereas an NDSU win just makes their fanbase a little more annoying.
 

As I am living in AZ, the outcome of this game will have absolutely no bearing on my life whatsoever, so I don't care.

As a kid, we called these "plane crash games". The visitor's plane should crash into the home team's practice. I won't be that mean now.

The only black eye suffered is to the loser. Comparison losses have 0 value.
 


I'm a little concerned about the death fantasies going on here.

We can't beat them if they're all dead....
 

That's one game I'd end up rooting for the officials.
 

Im disappointed we cant play ndsu again

Ndsu fans think they'd be up there with osu if in b1g. Would be nice b1g knock them down a peg

I hope Iowa wins by 100. And I don't like Iowa.
 


For me I guess it just comes down to who has the more annoying fans. At least for the ones I know, it's NDSU in a landslide.
 

I hear Iowa is trying hard to get SW Rhode island State & Wyoming school of typing & locksmithing on their 2017 schedule.
