Iowa taking down Purdue?

With both Moore & Johnson graduating from Purdue & Iowa only losing Cole, I look forward to next year's match-up with Purdue and the rest of the Big 10. Fran is a decent recruiter and Iowa had a stud California point guard recruit at today's game - he got to see quite an environment!

Purdue could be in trouble next year. DJ Byrd can't carry a team

pretty pathetic by the Iowa fans after the game.

Dude, lighten up. Everything about that program has been completely pathetic and dormant for years. Everyone knows that. They want to dance when they are finally thrown a bone? I say let 'em.

Western Kenticky decommits aren't studs

Based on how much the rest of the B10 loses to graduation next year, I look for Iowa to make a big leap to at least 5th or 6th next season.

Agree. The only lamer and more cliche than storming the court is complaining about it. Of the things in life to complain about, storming the court after a basketball game has to come in at about 1 trillion. Who cares?

It was a great win to end the season for a program that definitely needed something to go right. If only we could have an excuse to do the same in Williams Arena. Would beating PSU qualify?

I think it's odd to complain about Iowa fans rushing the court after the Purdue win. They were in last-place in the Big Ten and are not going to the postseason (unless they win the Big Ten tourney). This win over Purdue was by far the high point in the season for them, and it came at the end of they year on Senior day with their senior having a big game.

I said before that I really like some of the things McCaffery has done (namely finding two underrated players in Basabe and Cartwright who can play at the Big Ten level), and another thing he does well is get his team ready to play the big games - sort of like John Beilein's teams, they can be a lot better in one game than they are in the next. The fact that he can get them to play well enough to be competitive against all the top teams in the Big Ten this year (lost vs. OSU by 5, lost in OT vs. Wisky, beat Purdue) even though they were one of the worst teams in the league is notable. I think McCaffery is going to prove to be a good hire by Iowa - if he finds a couple more under the radar guys who can play (especially somebody to replace Cole), next year could bring a return to the top half of the league for Iowa.

Agree with WAG and OSUfan. Kind of like us beating Iowa to end this FB season. Good for them.

Plus they had a big recruit visiting today.

wag, you seem very angry lately. we also beat purdue at home this season so we had the same excuse had we wanted to do it, even though it feels so long ago.

We lose 2 valuable seniors but landed 2 nice recruits (Hale, Lawson) and get 2 redshirts (Robbie Hummel, Anthony Johnson) as well.

The Boilers look forward to playing the Hawkeyes, too (I'm sure).

If any other school in a similar spot had done it (besides Becky) I'd be OK with it. But it's Iowa and so mocking here is appropriate. Besides you should at least have close to a full house if you're going to storm the court. Did Iowa? I'm guessing no.

Gophersfan75 - I don't think it is really that far fetched to think that Iowa can "jump" from 10th to at least 6th next year in the B10. Just off the top of my head, teams like PSU, Northwestern, and Illinois lose a LOT to graduation, so Hawkeyes could very well leap frog them. Therefore, yes, I will keep telling myself that :)

Shouldn't you be telling that to other fans on your own effing board?

There is zero doubt in my mind that Robbie will preform at an All-B1G level next season. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if is the B1G POY next year.

Your mind ignores that most players aren't the same after 1 ACL tear, let alone 2.

Yes, I already did so on Iowa's board. If you notice, I did NOT start this thread, only responding to gopher fans that are dissing on my Hawkeyes!

Gopherfan75 - you really add a lot to this board with your in-depth analysis. Since you can't dispute anything I said your sarcasitic responses are quite lame.
