Injury Updates?

In the article about Willis, Niko said they require more time. I don't think he said "quite some time" but I would take that to mean they won't play in either B1G game this week. Hopefully back by January.
I would say that's quite sometime

Maybe we can ask the league to just play half court games to minimize the running needed.

Alternative 2 is a best of HORSE series, but that would require us to make shots, too.

Hahaha.

...

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Of course the previous coach was blamed for everything including not getting sufficient talent from the portal when he had zero revenue sharing $$ and limited NIL.

?
When the "Previous Coach" was here nobody had any revenue sharing $$.

Why the hell don't they just say he'll be out for an estimated x number of days or weeks? They should let the public know how long a player is expected out. There's no reasonable reason they can't.

Any news on Rob's pending return? Or is he done?

My guess is if he isn't back by at least mid-January he's out for the season. Would he be eligible for a RS if he chooses?

Omot?

Curious how it took a month and a half to decide what to do. I get the idea of "let's try therapy", but it took that long to realize he needs surgery?

It seemee likely from the moment it happened.

I assume they were trying anything they could think of to get him back playing this season and finally hit a point where they realized none of those options were going to work so he should just go ahead and have the surgery.

If the surgery was going to be season ending regardless of when it was done then there was no harm in taking the time to see if there was a way to avoid it.

Good to have confirmation of what we all anticipated. Looks like we are riding with the guys we have for the rest of the year, hopefully they can all stay healthy.

Will be interesting to see what happens with the injured guys moving forward

If all these injured guys come back, we're going to be like Indiana football on the court.
5 of the current 7 have eligibility and 7 of 9 with Viohala and Willis. Add Kyan Evans and sue to get Tyson another year and you'd have something.

Hmm...that's a little more optimistic than warranted.

I'm happy with the seven who are playing every game now but two of them (our #1 and #3 scorers) will be gone after this season. Three freshman will be coming in (knock on wood). That's 8 players without counting the four on the disabled list and another player who is available but can't see the floor.

I would prefer taking our chances from the transfer portal over two or three of those who are on the roster but not participating right now.

I think I'm with you on this. I think we can upgrade. But I always trust in Niko. Amen.

Was talking to a Division 2 play-by-play guy regarding injury updates on players. I'm not sure if it's a NCAA rule for everybody, but in D-2, coaches, training staff, ect. are very limited on what they are able to report regarding injuries because of the privacy concerns for student athletes. Generally, if a player doesn't want the extent of his injury made public, the team cannot give out details.

We had been talking about a player that had suffered a knee injury in practice. Looks like it could be a season ending ACL, but the coach said he couldn't give any details other than she injured her knee in practice. If the player tells the staff they can go ahead and mention a surgery and I'm out for the season, that's pretty much all that will go into an injury report.

Another instance earlier in the season, another player apparently had the flu, but the only announcement made by the team was that "Player A is unavailable for tonights game".
