Keep your fingers crossed that everyone, other than Christensen, will be ready for PSU. Feel terrible for Jon and wish him well.

Was Hageman in the game during Indiana's 26 straight?

Beat PSU and get that bye week!

in regards to Jon, i will say it was pretty incredible to see him pick up all his teammates after his injury. definitely looks like the team really has some solidarity about them this year.

I think we got lucky on the injury front. I think we got banged up a little but the only guy that should miss time will be Jon.

Does anyone know that status on Christenson's injury? With the need for a stretcher and being carted off the field I wondered if he broke his leg. Does anyone have any updates?

They said x-rays for a significant leg injury. I assume he broke a bone or two.

No doubt he's done for the year with a likely leg fracture. Thank you Jon. You're a smart kid with a bright future. You did a hell of a job of advancing this program.

Yes sir. Keeping fingers crossed for the young man's health.

Where was it reported that Nelson has a hip pointer? Hope JC is alright DVD able to recover unlike Mottla. Who was on the creative charter flight, great seeing him supporting the team even though his career is over.

I'm not a great evaluator of offensive line play, but I do know the center is integral since he touches the ball on every play. And, in the Gopher running game, many have pointed out their focus on running between the tackles...with much success. So, I assume Christenson was/is extremely important and having a very good season. Is it possible he's our best lineman? If so, with the loss of Boddy-Calhoun, arguably our best DB, this will test us. Nice to have a vet like Tommy Olson to step in.

Kill said after the game that Nelson has a hip pointer. That can be a painful injury, hopefully he's good to go against PSU. We've seen in the past that Nelson isn't nearly as effective if he's limited by injury.

One more game and then another bye. I think the byes were scheduled perfectly this year.

The way the training staff was attending to Chrstensen, I was thinking broken leg and done for the year.

Looked like a tib/fib break by the way they treated it. Likely out for the year & back again next season.

Does anyone one have any insight of Wells? Maybe he played yesterday and I missed it, but seems like the type of game where they would need him if healthy. Is his shoulder still bothering him, or am I just missing him when he is on the field?

I hate these kind of injuries no matter who it is, but at least he isn't senior. Nothing worse than seeing someone's career end with a season ending injury.

Hopefully it is something that will heal and he can easily get back to 100% next year.

He was dressed but didn't play (the Gophers list game participation on their website under stats).

I'm very concerned about our cornerback depth next year. We're already too thin at the position and are losing Shabazz, Baltazar, and Vereen.

That puts us very reliant on Wells, who gets injured every year, and Boddy, who is coming off of a season ending injury. At minimum I'd like to see us recruit 3 cornerbacks, at least one of them a JUCO. The staff is starting to make moves in that direction, but I think they have been underrecruiting the position both this year and last.

I think his shoulder is still bothering him. He played sparingly against Nebraska and I don't remember seeing him yesterday.

Christenson out for remainder of season.

I'm all for bringing in a Juco for depth next year, but actually think we look to be in really good shape at the position.

There's no reason Wells shouldn't be healthy next season & poised for an All-B1G type Sr year. He injured his shoulder in game 2 or 3 & tried to play through it, but sitting down was the right choice. Hopefully he can sit out PSU + the Bye week & be back for Wisconsin, or at least healed up for the bowl game. Also no reason BBC shouldn't be able to rehab his injury & be ready to go. It wasn't a career-ender. Plus Eric Murray is playing ok as a starter & only going to be better next year. Add in Jaylen Myrick (who I think is going to be a star) who's played well in limited duty so far & on paper we've got one of the strongest CB rotations in Gopher history.

I have high hopes for Myrick as well. It's also obvious that Murray is improving every week, I'm expecting him to be an All-Big 10 player the next two years. Hopefully Marcus Jones can contribute too with another off season at CB.

I'm also excited about our safeties! This is probably the most hyped up I've been about our upcoming seasons in a long time. It's awesome seeing a bunch of underclassmen contributing and knowing they will be around for three or four more years.

Steven Montgomery is still only a Sophomore so he could still surprise us & contribute at CB too.

You're right about the Safeties as well. Cedric Thompson is back again next year as a Senior, both Damarious Travis & Antonio Johnson will be Juniors, Grayson Levine plays some, he'll be a Senior & Daletavious McGhee (who is red-shirting) is said to be a stand-out, with NFL type potential.

We were all worried about linebackers last year and they recruited Damien Wilson and DeVondre Campbell and now it is a position of strength. It does seem we are thin in the secondary but I trust Kill to be aware of what we need and get somebody to fill the weak spots.

Five cornerbacks on scholarship isn't nearly enough, especially when two of them have serious injury concerns. We play about 12 defensive backs most games. We should have, at minimum, 16 defensive backs on scholarship to account for this. We currently have 11 going into next season.
