Indiana

Everyone is forgetting one thing. The Administration at Indians is different than the U. Perhaps the are bending over backwards to let Curt do what needs done in order to win. Kind of like Barry at Wisconsin with Shula at the helm.
Assume you are being sarcastic as usual.

Any semblence of a running game along with stopping that bubble screen play maybe once or twice would have helped in that game.
Correct: the weather isn’t why they lost

They lost because they got their ass kicked.
The weather definitely was more favorable for wisconsins style than Minnesota’s though.

This thread reminds of that meme with the couple walking down the street, the guy has his head turned and is gawking at the other girl. Girlfriend less than satisfied with the reaction. Jealous girlfriend meme.

Luckily Indiana has a difficult game coming up and everyone can throw rocks afterward, should they go down to the might Buckeyes.

The only rocks anyone has thrown at Indiana to this point is in pointing out that they have played a really soft schedule. It is fair to question if they are a legit top team or just a really good one.

There is zero doubt at this point that they are one of the best in the Big Ten this year that doesn't mean they are a legit CFP contender. Their prove it moment will come in Columbus on the 26th where they will get the chance to show they a contender and not just a good team that has benefited from a really favorable schedule.

Cigs gets 8 year, $8 million per year contract extension.
Last year he made $677,311.
Such a deal...

I certainly think it's fair for any team to have the strength of their schedule considered as part of their evaluation. But it drives me up the wall how much talk Indiana's schedule gets when, if a helmet school in a major conference were 7-0 against that same schedule (especially with the same scores Indiana has put up), very few would be questioning the legitimacy of their ranking. If Indiana goes 11-1 with a loss to OSU, they should have the same ranking that Penn State would have if they went 11-1 against that same schedule with a loss to OSU.

Speaking of chasing ghosts... the value of the new contract is 8 years $72 million or $9 million a year with the annual retention bonus. This is up from the 6 year $27 million contract he signed in December.
They are 10 and 0 on a bye week. Do you really need to do this now??
Don't get the timing at all and did you really need to double his salary to keep him?
IF they beat Ohio State nothing would have changed ... he'd accept the contract if offered after game 12. If they spiral out of control was the $9 million a year a bit premature?

I like the Cinderella ride but what happens if they lose? It is sometimes difficult to get the magic back.
He is 63 years old and in his first year at a big time school.
He is only behind Lincoln Riley and Ryan Day in the Big Ten who are at $10 million and who are 4th, 5th highest paid in the country. Indiana is not going to be able to recruit at that level...are they?

I find it interesting some people find it so offensive to say a team hasn’t really played anyone

I’ll be curious in year 2 of Cignetti if he is Cignetti or if he is Mel Tucker

What if the Hoosiers win next week? Maybe $72 million would have turned into $80 million?

What if Florida St fires their coach on Monday?

Just devil's advocate.

My bet is he still leaves if the right team comes calling, and there are programs that wouldn't have much problem paying his buyout. All Indiana has accomplished is bidding up the cost of hiring a football coach.
