If Taylor is ready for the Ducks, do we play him or do we save him for "winnable" games?

If he's ready and you don't play him, what is the message to the team? "We are good enough to win without him so why risk further injury? Let's up the odds that we'll have him for the finish." Or is it "We are just not good enough to beat Oregon, with or without him, but we can beat Northwestern and Wisconsin if we have him intact."

He won’t play the remainder of the season and will put in for medical redshirt.

Oregon is not a winnable game??????? If so, we should probably just not play the rest of the season......

Did you watch their home game vs. the Badgers? 7-0 at halftime and the stinking Badgers were very much in the game until the 4th quarter.....

What are we saving him for? He needs to play football if he wants his pay day next spring.

Wow....almost every reply is in agreement that if he is healthy he plays.....that is a rarity around here.

And I agree, if Taylor is healthy he plays.

With only three games left, play him - which is what he wants and what fans want. The more time he spends running, the fewer points Oregon's offense runs up.

It won't matter unless he can play OL. If he can play OL stick him in there because we need a couple new offense linemen.

a healthy DT with a good OL = great running game. A healthy DT with the current MN OL = a below avg BIG running game. My bet is he leverages his ? Leg health and questionable OL into an injury redshirt to maximize an additional year of NIL. He won’t be on an NFL roster. If healthy Fleck should play him.

I highly doubt he would be able to make a winning case for a medical redshirt given that he was able to come back and play in games 6 and 7.

I think he will play as much as possible down the stretch.

I hope he does. When he is on he is a good to great runner.

Regarding a case for redshirting, anything is possible with the current landscape. Nothing surprises me with NCAA eligibility these days.

Guess we’ll find out tonight if he plays.

Agree. IMO he is a great all around back, one of the best we have had here, he just has injury issues. His combo of running, catching the ball, and pass blocking is excellent. He is one of our few real explosive players, and needs to be on the field.

There is absolutely no reason to not play him if he is not injured. If the Gophers were planning on sitting him and punting the Oregon game to just save him, then there is no reason to play him the rest of the year. Its not like they are playing for anything major anyway, but if they win this game there is a chance to go to a nice bowl game and tack a huge win on the resume. Neither of the next two games offer that opportunity.

You are correct with nothing is surprising anymore, especially when it comes to eligibility rules.

lol what do you guys think he makes a game minute played this year in NIL?
No idea. I’ve read here on GH that he is one of the top few on the team receiving NIL. Rough guess is over 100k for the season. I may be wrong but I don’t see him in the NFL. One additional (redshirt) season in college should net him more $ than his first season not wearing a jersey. We’ll know in a few hours.

Play him and give him at least 30 carries has been the historical approach.
