If I was Brewster, I'd look to bolt...

GoGophers2005 -- I can't speak for Barreiro, but I can promise you that I am not lazy. You can disagree with my takes, say my writing/broadcasting style stinks, etc... but my work ethic can't be questioned.

LAZY!!!!!
That is the perfect word for the media in this town....not sure who said that above here but thank you for that word.

I would love to sit down with Danny B. and have him break down next years Gopher football team. 100 bucks says he couldn't do it. That is my problem with these guys. If you are going to endlessly pick apart a 3 point victory over SDSU you need to be able to name more than 2 players currently on the Gopher team (Weber and Decker).

It's like a broken record with Danny B....Brew this, Brew that, Brew is a terrible coach, Brew says the Gophers are going to the Rose Bowl. Instead of taking cheap easy shots, why not spend the time and actually break down this Gopher team intelligently? I NEVER hear anyone in the media state that the program lacks a legit Big Ten running back. They just say the offense stinks and Brew should be fired. Well why does the offense stink?

Burriero and Reusse have been unfairly critical of Brewster and will probably never give him a chance. They are only two members of the media. I think people are painting the whole media as out to get Brewster based on them. Sid coudn't be a bigger cheerleader for Brew. (Yes I know he's been a cheerleader for every Gopher coach since time began, but still.)

I didn't mean you Doogie...I guess I was generating my rant to the guys that have 3 hours of airtime to fill on radio per day. I think everyone is entitled to their opinion granted they do a little more analysis than just picking up a paper and finding out the Gophers beat a lowly SDSU team by a mere 3 points.

Fair enough ... it can be noted that many media members didn't make any games this year in terms of coverage (some went as fans to see TCF) ... talking to players/coaches afterward, etc.

Cncmin -- this Mark Madden? I like Mark ... he used to do the Sun. morning national ESPN radio show, but to suggest the things you did about him in a previous post is wrong. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06325/740029-194.stm

Thanks by the way for some nice words.

Doogie - yes, that Mark Madden. I hadn't heard him until this year, when he took over the after-work time slot home on what had been my favorite station (105.9). It's hard to take him seriously - he seems like a doorknob, though he is partially entertaining. Apparently he is liked by many, though I'm not sure why...he's a pretty rude fella. But I think people know what they're getting when they listen to him, and take it with a giant grain of salt. It's like listening to Rush Limbaugh on steroids (about sports).

If it makes you feel any better, I have much more respect for you than him... lol
