I Pledge to Support Jerry Kill

Some people on this board sound like whinny children who did not get what they wanted for Christmas. Stop it! Do you really think a big name coach would come here? Really? Give Coach Kill a chance. It's time for everyone to get behind this program. Instead of talking about what could have been, start thinking about what could be. Five star players and a sold out stadium will come once Minnesota has a winning program.

Best of luck, Coach Kill!

I support Kill 100%...he's a sold coach and proven winner...
This guy has won everywhere he's been. Norhern Illinois was 2-10 before
he came and in three years, turned them into a 10-3 ranked team who one
their conference. They did look impressive when the whooped our butts
at Bank this year. It was an only an 11-point win, but it wasn't even that close.
They were able to what they wanted to against us. They looked organized,
confident and new exactly what they were doing. The Gophers, on the other
hand, looked exactly the opposite. This is a proven winner and solid coach and
I hope that he can continue have that same success here

Count me in...I will support this guy. Honest hardworking and a likable guy!

I'll always cheer for the Gopher football team no matter who is at the helm. As mad as I was at Tim Brewster for losing to South Dakota, I wanted nothing more than for him to turn things around and win as many games as possible. Coach Kill, I hope you make a lot of us who doubt Joel Maturi look like ignorant jackasses. See you in Indy next December.

The last thing I want is for the coach to be the exiting part of the gophers. I would much prefer to see the exitement of the gophers beating their oponents on the field. I am really tired of hearing about how some big name coach would exite the fanbase. I want wins to exite the fanbase not the coach. Whether Kill can do that or not will be seen in the coming years and I will be eager to watch.

I pledge to cancel my season tickets this year and take my wife on a vacation instead. I plan to thank Joel M. while I'm on vacation for making it so. I plan to wait and see on the new coach and if he turns things around, to consider getting season tickets again if 3 or 4 years. I plan to watch every game on BTN network next year and help their ratings.

Good for you, don't need "supporters" like you anyway. Have fun on vacation.

Sparlimb...did you know that your wife and I plan on meeting while you are on "vacation" and we will have fun while your vacation is ruined? I don't thank Joel M. for this, I thank YOU!!!

This seems like a fake post, to rile up some people....so I'll bite.

Tough choices that everybody has to make I guess. Hopefully, you will live to regret that decision when we go to a new years day bowl game for the third straight year, and season tickets are sold out and no longer available.

I'd be more than happy if that was the case. It is a choice we all have to make. If me missing out on seeing the season in person means we go to the Rose Bowl, I'd be fine with that. I can only talk with my pocket book. That is what I'm choosing to do. If the U wants to go on the cheap again, so do I. I still want us to win and succeed.

Wishy washy as a Gopher fan, no.

Disappointed, meh, I would be lying through my Gopher teeth if I said I wasn't. However, I always support the coach and the players regardless.

Let's go, Kill... some Badgers, Hawkeyes, Wolverines, Huskers, etc.

I want to see what this man is capable of. Some people should be ashamed of themselves for writing off someone who hasn't yet stepped into our stadium as our coach.

I'm in full support.

It's your right, but we're supposed to care, why? I do want to thank you sincerely though for offering to sacrifice your pleasure to give us a small chance to go to the Rose Bowl. That's very noble. Good God, all of what is said here doesn't matter a frickin' bit. If Kill can coach and win games, it's a good hire. There's a record to indicate that he can, and there are a lot of fans willing to give him a chance to do that. After the letdown when I realized I was getting a sweater for Christmas instead of a shiny new bike, I'm already looking forward to next season.

I'll support coach kill but I'm not signing off on the bleeding maroon part of your pledge. Everyone knows blood is red!

The fact that Sparlimb points out the need for this thread is annoying to no end. Try not to twist your ankle hopping off the bandwagon.

Its time to win.

It doesnt matter what coach we hired for the Gophers. This job is not easy and the chances of long term top level success at this time seems hard to believe. So no matter if you like the hire or not the chances of success are just as tough to imagine name coach or not. I will clearly back Coach Kill until he proves he cant get the job done we have not won a Big Ten Title in 40 years who is to say he cant do the job? He has won at every stop he has had hopefully that will continue. If not we will be doing this all over again under different situations.

I'm on board with Coach Kill

Kill Herkey! Kill Bucky! Go Gophers!

Actually, while arterial blood is bright red, venous blood is surprisingly maroon. Everyone bleeds some maroon.

I'm not asking anyone to care what my opinion is. I'm just sharing it, same as the rest of you. I'm not making any personal decisions based on what anyone here thinks and I wouldn't expect any of you to either. You are correct that our opinions don't matter. He will win or not win despite our opinions.

Had my vent for a day and ready to hop on board

I reserve my right to hate Joel Maturi with a white hot fury, but after reading quite a bit about Coach Kill I am ready to return as a vocal supporter of the Maroon and Gold. Coach Kill please make sure to give quite a bit of space between yourself and Maturi this afternoon, I think there is a distinct possibility that there will be some veggies thrown his way. Welcome to Dinkytown Coach Kill. I am excited about the possibilities a solid coach brings to this program.
Gooooooooooo Gophers !

Here's the difference. Your own blood is red. Your opponent's blood dried on your uniform is maroon.
