I hope I am wrong but don't think we can stop Wisconsin's run game

Indiana folded after their rough start. They knew they were overmatched needing everything to go well to have a chance. The Gophers will know they can beat wisc so a bad break early won't cause panic.

What does this even mean? This is fluff that means nothing.

No, that's not right. According to maroonedinCA, WE are overmatched for next week. That's why Indiana lost.

Who have we beaten that you feel Wisconsin couldn't beat? The Legends seemed like the tougher division at the beginning of the season but I'm not so sure anymore.

Don't call the Gophers "we." You have been an obvious troll for awhile. Go to your Bucky board.

I'm a diehard Gopher fan, have been since I was born and have been since I graduated from the U. I'm also realistic and not prone to throwing out platitudes.

I really hope I am wrong but I don't see us stopping Wisconsin's run game. We have to some how stack up the fullback before he can get to our linebackers. Then we might have a chance to slow them down.

I think the defense can play good enough to win.

I'm more worried about an offense that starts 1-2 seniors, and that's being conservative, against a Wisky defense with 8+ seniors starting, including almost the entire front 7.

Wisky's gotta LOVE playing in the Leaders division. Must be nice having Illinois and Purdue on the schedule. They've beaten absolutely NOBODY this year and are whining about a BCS berth. Classic.

I agree. I'm more worried about us being able to score enough points to win. Wisconsin's D is experienced and very good. Our offense has been lightyears better the last 4 weeks compared to the Iowa and Michigan games, but we're still pretty young, especially at QB and WR. Nelson will have to continue to play flawless football.

The defense is scarier than their run game to me. UW is by far the best team we have played this year.

I've never seen a Gopher fan on this board or in my social life say such nice things about Wisconsin before. It's not normal. Many of us, myself included, will admit that Wisconsin has a good team. You seem to go out of your way to compliment them. It's weird. I think you should know that.

Lol! Ok, well since you know what the team is feeling, I have no more cause for concern. Gophers 63 Badginas 0

Appreciate the heads up. Sorry if my fandom comes across as being anti-gopher or too pro-badger. I'm really envious of the success they've had recently and can only hope that we continue to build towards that level. When I'm sitting around at home on a cold January 1st and the past three years I've seen friends posting pictures live from Pasadena it's hard not to be a little jealous.

I was at the game and those who have said Indiana gave up are absolutely right. You could tell by the second quarter that they just wanted to get on their bus and go home.

Excited for game next week. Minnesota's improvement is good for the rivalry. That said, I hope we kick your ass. :)

This is hilarious. You really think Wisconsin would be afraid of Nebraska or Michigan? Lulz. Wisconsin is significantly better than both of those weak teams, and the vast majority of their own fans would agree. It is not close. I wish we played both teams this year; would be an absolute asspounding.

Sucks we aren't playing MSU this year, as I think we're 2a and 2b in the conference this year.

We played toe-to-toe with Indiana Indiana is losing 37-3.

It doesn't look like we can realistically hope to 1. score on the Wisconsin D or 2. stop Wisconsin from scoring. I agree with the OP: It's not looking good.

I can imagine the pictures in your house. The Hindenburg , The Titanic, The Valdez tanker, Michael Dukakis, Andria Adoria, Pearl Harbor. Did I miss any?

Well, at least you've stopped giving coaching advice to Kill based on how you did it with junior varsity, wasn't it?

We played Indiana on the road and Wisconsin played them at home.

Illinois and Purdue both managed to score on the Wisconsin defense, so I'm going to allow myself to at least hope we don't get shutout.

Rumor has it that we will be lining up in a new 6-1 defensive scheme

My bad. You're right. It wasn't fact, just conjecture. I was basing that optimistic view on the fact that we've overcome adversity to get on this roll.

We're hoping the turnover ratio from today's game is reversed. On the way home turned on Siriux/XM at about 11:20 and saw the score. What! Looking at the recap, it's easy to see why, with tOSU looming and watching their Bowl hopes disappear, the Hoosiers could have quit.

After moving the ball briefly on the opening drive, Sudfeld was picked off on a deep throw to the Wisconsin 7 after receive Nick Stoner broke one way and the ball went another.

Wisconsin faked the jet sweep on its first play. White took the handoff, broke a tackle at the line and then took it 93 yards for the score.

It was the longest run in Wisconsin history, topping the previous record of 91 yards by Tom Brigham vs. Western Michigan in 1963.

Indiana running back Stephen Houston fumbled on the second play of Indiana's next drive, and the Badgers took three plays to score as Gordon punched it in from inside the 1.

The Hoosiers turned in a pair of three-and-outs on their next two possessions and Wisconsin countered with two field goals, and the rout was on.

Wisconsin had three 100 yard rushers and an additional 86 yard rusher today. In total, they racked up 554 rushing yards.

J. White 205
M. Gordon 146
C. Clement 108
J. Abbrederis 86

That is the mismatch that negates our run game, plus down a couple of starters on the O line. We'll have to go to what's worked pretty well in recent weeks and attack their secondary, which is supposedly a weak area. I think we need a big play or two on both sides of the ball, or maybe the kicking game. Going toe-to-toe against their front 7 doesn't seem like it would work. Saying that, I will not be surprised if we have some success running between the tackles.

Almost as hilarious as your reading comprehension. Nowhere did he say Wisconsin would be afraid to play Nebraska or Michigan.

I'm not sure how anyone can't say, after Ohio St. and Wisconsin, the Leaders division is incredibly weak this year. You could easily argue that four of the five worst teams in the Big Ten are in that division this year.

I'm glad the killed Indiana; their week of practice will be more relaxed and "happy". The perfect storm. We have a chance fellas.

I remember a guy from San Diego a few years ago on a different board who used to whine after every Gopher loss that he'd wasted a day watching lousy football instead of lying on the beach. Sound familiar to you?

My reading comprehension is just fine, thanks. He was talking about how we're loving being in the Leaders division. My point is it doesn't matter. We beat Iowa and Northwestern handedly. We play Minnesota. That leaves three teams left. We'd run the train on Nebraska and Michigan.

That leaves MSU. And I wish we played them this year, because I think we are 2a and 2b in the conference. Would be a great game, as always.

I actually wish we were in the legends division this year. We'd be one of the two favorites to win and I think we would beat OSU about 40% of the time on a neutral field. In short, being in the legends division, with four mediocre teams, a dumpster fire and an equal would improve our chances at the Rose Bowl.

Thankfully that will (sort of) be the case moving forward.

I actually think WI would beat osu 55/100 on a neutral field; but that's irrelevant. We don't need to beat WI or MSU to say season was success (3 yrs removed from Brewster this is progress), but I would like to see the game be entertaining. I think we can make MSU game mor entertaining than the WI game, but I hope I'm wrong.

How many hands? Single-handedly? Double-handedly? Heavy-handedly? My mistake, I thought you were literate. What you meant to say was handily.
