It was not pretty but not sure how you can rate a season with a winning record and a freshman QB much worse than a B

A couple of plays away from 9-3
A couple of plays from 3-9

C for Continually the same every year.
We always just below “Bo Pellini” level. Not happy not sad. Just meh. Bowl win here we come. Yay rah.

I predicted 7 and they won 7. Could have won 9 but could have lost 8 just as easy.

Overall 7-5 and going undefeated at home is not all that bad. I gave a B but would have given a B minus or C plus if that was an option.

After the Ohio State game when the Gophers had a 3-2 record, I posted that I thought a 5-2 finish by THIS TEAM would be fantastic and a 4-3 finish would be "GOOD." They finished 4-3 so that's a B.

I think a B thus far. I didn't have high expectations going into this year but the run game and defense were materially worse than I thought they would be. However, I believe we have QB nailed for next year (and hopefully a few more) and our win total is about where I expected - if we win the bowl, it will be a B, if we lose the bowl it will be a C+ season. Next season, we need to be 9+ wins even with the schedule getting harder.

There are other teams to follow, you know. You're not married to the Gophers. If you're unhappy with the team you follow every year, blame yourself for continuing to watch.

If he grew up rooting for the squad since he was a kid, for example, why would he change now? These sort of posts are always stupid.

Games against lesser opponents were too close for my comfort, which is why I went with a C

C. Maddening levels of inconsistency on both sides of the ball plus special teams. Completely un competitive in three games two can maybe be forgiven a bit but most teams competed better than us in those games. Just needed better efforts all the way around maybe especially from PJ and staff. If PJ continues to hold onto his own players like he has and puts last year’s portal disaster behind him and has a good year could be very competitive next year.

I gave them a B. It was going to be a transitional year with a redshirt freshman QB. Blew leads against California and Northwestern and it's hard to look past that. Win those and I probably give them an A-.

Just some bad work in the portal regarding the O-line. Improved O-line has to be job one for the coacbing staff going into 2026. Defense is also a bit of a mess (coaching and talent combo).

I think this team actually overachieved…

This could have been a 3 or 4 win team and a “rebuilding” year, but this team gritted out a lot of wins 👍🏻
You and me are in the same boat. It's hard to win games when you're outmatched up front which we were most of the time this year.

I don't see a lot of the usual haters lurking in the threads tonight, feels great to have that axe!

B. Could have been a 2023-esque season or worse based on the team on the field + coaching but they won the games they were meant to. Cal and Northwestern games/Iowa blowout are bummers but we went 3-1 in one score games, kicked a ranked Nebby team's ass, went 7-0 at home and kept the axe home. For Drake Lindsey's freshman season, 7-5 is a success.
