I would read that as "2 yeas eligibility" but still has the red shirt option he can use if needed.I'm out of touch with eligibility lingo... What's "three years to play two" mean exactly?
To elaborate:He's got 2 years of playing eligibility.. but has 3 years to do it... could redshirt
It looks much better in that pic than the tweet. That jawline is 5 star all the way
I believe that it has to be enrolled at any college. You can take a post-graduate year at a prep school for example and not start your 5 year clockTo elaborate:
the baseline thing for every NCAA student-athlete is that you have a 5 calendar year running clock that starts from I believe the first day you are enrolled at a post-secondary school. So JUCO counts too. NAIA counts. etc.
Within those five years, you get to "participate" in four "seasons".
- in every sport except football, participate literally means you set foot on a court or field of competition during an official regular or post season game. You set foot on it, boom. That's a participated season.
- a few years ago, for football only, they changed the rule to say if you only play in 4 or fewer official regular or post season games, that does not count as a participated season.
- A season has some technical definition, and part of that is that it ends with a championship. So for example, the spring "season" isn't really a season. And so on. It's pretty obvious in football, maybe slightly less obvious in some other sports.
Good point! I was thinking college when I wrote that, so I'm not sure what the correct language is then.I believe that it has to be enrolled at any college. You can take a post-graduate year at a prep school for example and not start your 5 year clock
I'm wondering how the competition level of Dallas Baptist compares with Harvard. He and Chris Smith had very similar stats.
It was better when the Southland had Sam Houston St. and Abilene Christian. The bolted to the WAC last year, and it looks like Sam Houston St. is going to C-USA in 2023.I'd like to know that as well. Take it for what it's worth, but a poster on another site said Houston Baptist plays in a similar, or slightly better conference than Harvard?
"They envision me fitting right in with the other guys in the defensive tackle room, and letting me get to work this summer with them. I'll be mainly a one-technique there."Looks like he would fit as rush end depth! Couple clips in his reel have him pursuing downfield showing his no quit motor! I like him better than Harvard! SUM!
Note that it doesn’t really matter as this dude is going to have a monster season and head for the draft.I believe that it has to be enrolled at any college. You can take a post-graduate year at a prep school for example and not start your 5 year clock

I think last year both the new WAC and the remaining Southland were FCS. Houston Baptist struggled mightily (I think their program is fairly new):It was better when the Southland had Sam Houston St. and Abilene Christian. And he's "blessed" as well! That jawline is 5 star all the way
I think we're on our way to having a legit DLine all the time - my dream is coming true. And he's "blessed" as well!
When the opposing offense tries something, the Gophers will respond with "Baugh! Humbug!"
A consistently good DL would be a historic change.I think we're on our way to having a legit DLine all the time - my dream is coming true.
And it covers lots of sins and would make us a perennial Top 25 programA consistently good DL would be a historic change.
We had some fun DLs in the earlier part of the Mason run (1999 specifically) but has been a while since we have consistently had a good defensive line. Feels like we are moving back in that direction but time will tell.A consistently good DL would be a historic change.
I feel like those DLs really benefited from stacking EVERYONE in the box and relying on Tyrone Carter cleaning up ... almost everything that went 5 yards beyond the line of scrimmageWe had some fun DLs in the earlier part of the Mason run (1999 specifically) but has been a while since we have consistently had a good defensive line.
