Timberwolves radio play-by-play announcer Alan Horton will add TV duties

Alan Horton will be on simulcast when television voice Michael Grady is away doing national games.

I like Horton just fine, but simulcasting the TV feed on Radio for the non-Grady games seems like a tightwad move by the Wolves, IMO.

I think it's more of a "Alan Horton is incredible" move. He's fantastic. I think he'll absolutely kill it.

Just to clarify, I have enjoyed Horton on the Radio broadcasts. I think he's been a quality announcer as 1 man crew, entertaining even in down times. Really dreadful periods in Wolves history actually.

I think he will do just fine (at minimum) on TV with JimPete. Might even be very good to great, in due time.

It's the simulcasting of those TV broadcasts to the Radio/Streaming feed which is the tightwad move in my opinion.

I think it takes away from the Radio when the announcers are also serving the TV audience, no matter how good Horton or anyone else is.

Ahhhh - I totally get that point of view. It's 2 completely different mediums where people consume information very differently. Good point.
