Unfortunately for us, we've been as consistent as March temperatures the past few years. But hey, we have a better chance than UCLA, so who knows...

Confidence is a big thing with this team. They have some now and we have a chance. Have to vote Gophers.

We beat Florida...then maybe SDSU...that's Elite 8 Gopherholers!

What the heck, I'll vote Gophers. I'm not ready for the season to end. If we protect the ball like we did in the first half tonight then there aren't many teams that will beat us.

Florida's not a big team. Patric Young is good, but he's not an inside beast. He's just a little bigger than Mbwake. Size for size, the Gophs match up well. I think it comes back to the Hollins boys. If they play like they did tonight, they season goes on to next week.

I want and voted for us to win just to show Wisconsin how it is done.

We play like we did tonight, and we have a serious chance at an Elite 8 appearance with Michigan...holy hell

Would kill to see that rematch. I'm just psyched for Sunday right now though. Keep the run going.

If the Gophers can get past Florida (and that's a big IF) they have a great shot at getting to the Elite 8.

If Andre and Austin can keep up the efficient play....If Trevor can make his FT's...If Young misses his...Yes, we have a chance. The nice thing is that our players should enter into the game with renewed confidence and vigor. It was nice to see Joe Coleman actually may those little 10 footers. Now, if we can get Rodney on board and get Trevor to make his FT's, we'll be very dangerous.

Everything in the Big Dance is a big IF. Just ask Georgetown, K-State, Wisky, et.al.

Young is an inside beast in my book for sure. He isn't a big scorer, but he's a physical specimen. Murphy is a tough cover as well as a tall stretch 4 who will shoot the 3.

Keys for the Gophers will be getting easy baskets in transition, not turning it over and keeping UF from lighting it up from 3. That's an area where UCLA was poor without Adams but UF's strength on O is shooting the 3, gotta guard them well out there.

Win if only Hollins' shoot ft's

Not sure if we can use the zone on Florida. They will light us up...We gave up 12 wide open 3's tonight and UCLA only made 2 of them. We won't be that lucky again.

Ya never know, ya know.

Michigan is the one team in this tournament that I am confident the Gophers would get destroyed by.

If Andre plays as well as he did today and they let us play physical and not call early fouls on trev we have a shot. Would be quite an upset though.

Not sure I understand that logic. Michigan has been pretty pedestrian the last month as well.

Not even close, unfortunately. Florida will light us up from the outside. Only if the Hollins can hit from down town as well can we keep it close. If close at the end could go either way. My son-in-law is a Gator so I really want a Gopher win. Go Gophers and prove me wrong.

Right now, until Sunday's game...I am just going to believe in my mind that this really IS all going to set up for Tubby and the Gophers to meet Shaka and VCU in this tournament. The storyline (maybe not so much nationally, but for Gopher fans, anyway) is just far too juicy to not happen. It almost has an NFL Script type of feel to it. Heck, let's get super Cinderella and say the Gophers beat FGCU to get there. Go Gophers!

Minnesota can beat Florida if the team that showed up last night shows up again on Sunday. Florida is a very good basketball team but the Gopher team that played against UCLA can beat anyone in this field. That being said we have not really seen this team prove they can be THAT team on a regular basis so it is anyone's guess as to which Gopher team will show up on Sunday.

OK, everyone is on a high because of the Gophers first tourney win in 16 years .... and that's 23 years for an official win.

BUT, lets be fair, this was a contest of two teams in disarray, The "Good Gophers" finally showed up after 10 minutes of ugly ball, but for the last 30 minutes UCLA looked like the "Bad Gophers" on their worse day. The Bruins simply gave up on the game & their coach. You know it's bad when the announcers talk about Shaka Smart or Brad Stevens being candidates for the UCLA coaching job.

Meanwhile, Billy Donovan may just be smart enough to try the Zone against the Gophers if man-to-man isn't working & two of your big men are in foul trouble.

Except that the "Good Gophers" have beaten the zone before (eg. Indiana). As long as we don't beat ourselves, this will be a great game.
