F. I say this for the announcers calling Shooters Bar in Appleton, MN a dive.

But, seriously, was pretty bad. Like another poster said, would've been better with just a wide shot of the field all game...

I agree...Shooters is Not a dive. I have frequented that establishment many times!

I'm sure most of you were expecting an ESPN Primetime quality production, but obviously Aggievison doesn't have a budget anywhere close to even a Big Ten Network broadcast. I thought it was fine for 1 non-conference that the Gophers were expected to win. The broadcast could have been better, but it definitely added to the Las Cruces experience.

A+

I give them an A for televising and broadcasting the game

Folks,

1. Beggars cannot be choosers. We are beggars in the Big Ten. The Fox television empire (which owns most if not all of the Big Ten Network) is doing their best to render us irrelevant. They have consigned us to btn2go.com which did not work for most of the day and finally jump started what, 30 minutes before kickoff?

2. Why are you (we) pounding on AggieVision? They televised a home game with limited resources. Their announcers were polite and plugged positive vibes for their home team, which they admit has struggled. They patriotically stuck by their home team, unlike Twin Cities media who bow, genuflect, kiss the ring, pander to organized crime (NFL / Vikings / Wilf Brothers) and proceed to berate our Golden Gophers. Once I figured out how to make btn2go.com work for me I got to watch the game. I am grateful for small blessings.

3. Why don't we instead focus on the Big Ten Conference / Big Ten Network / Fox television empire? Watch "The Final Drive" on the Big Ten Network (BTN). I timed it. Our Minnesota Golden Gophers vs. New Mexico State Aggies game received approximately 48 seconds of replay footage (start time 47:45 into the broadcast / end time 48:33 into the broadcast) in a one hour broadcast dedicated to recapitulation of all Big Ten games yesterday. Dave Revsine and Howard Griffen gave our Golden Gophers another 13 seconds of attention (start time 53:10 into the broadcast / end time 53:23 into the broadcast). So should we be grateful that a charter member of the Western (Big Ten Conference) received 61 seconds of coverage in a 60 minute broadcast? I don't know about you, but I do know that organized crime (NFL / Vikings / Wilf Brothers) is very pleased.

One universal constant in the message board world: if a posting starts out with the words "people", "folks", or "listen", it will likely annoy the majority of the readers.

Clearly you missed out on the fun we were having with Aggievision. It was the most awful production of a sporting event I have seen this side of community cable access. The good news is it was fun to share the experience with other GH'ers. Sort of a bonding experience that will surely live on.

And trying to parlay it into some sort of BTN conspiracy is also misguided. If there were only a few seconds of replays, that sounds about right because that is the total time the cameramen were able to get the action actually in the viewing frame.

The beef i had with AggieVision was not the lack of resources or sizzle, it was their utter inability to follow the ball.

The ability to find people that grasp basic football and can follow the ball is free.

Schnauzer,

Only you and the (NFL / Vikings / Wilf Brothers / organized crime) would be happy with our Golden Gophers receiving 61 seconds of air time in a 3,600 second broadcast dedicated to Big Ten game coverage. I am happy for you that you think it is equitable and fair. On the other hand, I see it as very unfair. In the USA, it is now axiomatic that anytime somebody points out a connection to organized crime, he / she gets accused of "misguided conspiracy theories," like we belong at Area 51 in Roswell, New Mexico.

Incomplete since the tape delay for this morning was apparently canceled or never actually scheduled and I was not able to watch the game.

I'm not sure about anyone else, but I guess I was a little bitter because I had to turn in my 3D glasses after the game.

Fox Sports North ran the tape delay from 2:00am-5:00am. I DVR'ed it and watched it after the Vikes non-game.

I'm guessing that the student camera operators are not football fans, because they apparently have never seen an option offense before. A local HS in my area has a mass-media class that shows games on the local public access cable t-v channel, and those kids at least know how to follow the action.

One of many favorites was the punt return for a td. Loved how they were zoomed in so close you couldn't tell where he was on the field, if defenders were nearby, etc.

F

Only because F- wasn't an option.

I have a tendency to grade very liberally, so I would give them a high F.

I kept the game on and listened to the radio. Since the radio was a few seconds ahead of the feed, I could "visualize" what happened even if the cameras weren't actually showing the play...

I quit watching and turned on the radio.

I agree with you Doc. They should at least get that grade for not pointing the camera at themselves!

My wife will ultimately be very happy with the broadcast because this is one game that I most likely will NOT watch a second and third time.
