Funny stuff. My printer hasn't worked for years and my in-laws always want to print out interesting things they read/see on the internet. Having paper copies of information seems to be a thing of the past.

I'm guessing there is a good chance that in a few years I'll laugh at myself for saying this, but as of right now I gotta say I'm as pleased as could be with Kill's hiring. With Brewster and Mason I always felt that there might have been a better hire out there that the Gophers wiffed on. Here, although I was initially more excited about Hoke (and the Mississippi guy and Golden and Shannon, etc.), as of right now I get the feeling we got a gem and I'm not wishing that we had hired one of the other available candidates (even if they wouldn't have come here).

I know not many people liked him, but Leach would be the only potential Gopher coaching candidate that I'm still curious about (boy would it suck if he gets a job soon and starts winning conference championships and January bowl games).

I think I'll copy this post into my Outlook calendar to remind me about what I said three years from now. It'll be interesting to see how all these new coaches are doing.

I think hard copy was from the period we use to send letters through the mail...and actually had to use something called a stamp...I know a lot cannot relate to that but some of us old timers remember those days...

It's not lost at Minnesota. Joel is putting Tubby's contract extension in tablet form as we speak. It's hard work and takes years, but it's worth it.

I think my Grandpa used to stamp hard copy for a living, back before the Great War.

I remember that too, nsmike. In order to get those little stinkers set up, one had to spell correctly and be able to read all of those backwards little letters and put them together to form the words.

I took that class also. My prize project was my first business card. It was for my summer lawn services. Now there is something else kids don't have a clue about either today. I am quite sure that they don't have a clue about -40 degree walks either since they now ride the bus to school.

I actually feel sorry for several members of this younger generation, not everyone mind you, because that generation is under so much stress that they have no sense of humor.

As someone who is not old and not that far removed from being a kid or young adult, I couldn't disagree with you more. I hire and work with interns and high school kids at my job. Kids have less work experience and work ethic than ever before. I've had 21, 22 year olds who didn't even know how to operate a lawn mower or roll up a hose.

Don't even get me started on cell phones/texting/facebook, etc. I use or do all those things myself, but the youth of today seem to not be able to do without those things, even if just for a short while. Two years ago we had to have one of our interns turn his cell phone off every day he came into work because he couldn't stop himself from texting throughout the day.

More advanced? I don't think so.
