Would lover to see a non QB get it but I don't see how it isn't Mendoza given how Indiana did this year.

In a just world, it would be Jacob Rodriguez from Texas Tech. People have compiled his stats and put them next to Manti Te'o in 2012, and it's just a staggering comparison. Unfortunately though you need to be a QB, RB or WR to win it so he didn't even get an invite. It will be Mendoza, and of the four he is most deserving.

Too bad you can’t give it to the more deserving… IU or OSU defense. That throw/catch to comeback against Penn State though wins it for Mendoza in addition to the head to head win over Sayin’.

Is it just me or is this an extremely weak Heisman year as far as the actual numbers the candidates put up?
I've said that too, this feels like an historically weak Heisman finalist group. Mendoza's a very nice player, but he absolutely pales against most of the great QBs of the last 40 years or so.

I agree. Really weak group.

I don’t think this season has as good of teams either

2025 Indiana < 2024 Indiana
2025 Ohio state < 2024 Ohio state
2025 Georgia < 2024 Georgia

In my opinion

So, if IU had called Drake Lindsey then Drake would be a Heisman trophy winner.

Was Pavia’s mom there? 👀
Not sure but he has quickly become extremely unlikeable. In an interview after the ceremony, he said “f**k you to the voters”. Then held a sign that said “f**k Indiana” at a club afterwards,

Why do these guys not understand the NFL hates stupid stuff like that. He might be the most immature old college QB we’ve seen.

I'm sure Pavia has his posse, but the guy is a classless pr*ck. And that's just the football part of the equation. His eligibility case is going to f*ck things up royally. I think one of the reasons voters didn't cast a first-place ballot for him is that he should have been out of eligibility.

Someone called him the Diet Coke version of Manziel....

I think he was the best guy and I would’ve voted for him
But the reason people didn’t vote for him is because his best win was vs 8-4 Missouri or 8-4 Tennessee who combined to beat something like 0 teams with a winning record.

his stats weren’t good enough to overcome lack of team success

Being old and short I would be surprised if he gets a serious look in the league. I don’t know if portraying himself properly to the league is on his mind all that much

Yeah it is always impressive how unaware some guys are to the fact that everything gets tons of attention and people are always watching these days.

That said, in Pavia's case he doesn't have an NFL future anyway. He may find a home in an alternative league of some kind but he doesn't have the skill set or measurables to be an NFL QB. Really good college QB.
