At the bottom of GopherSports.com's link you can post via fbook. Some dude wrote these series of posts, which the U has left up for all to see

Scott Christopher Kelly · Associate Professor of Economics/MBA Adviser at South University
Congratulations on hiring a coach who has lied on his resume for the past 8 years since he took the job at Duquesne, a la George O'Leary at Notre Dame football back in 2001. The reason I know is that he is literally claiming a job that I DID and he was nowhere around this section of the United States. Unfortunately no one has fact-checked his resume and took it as the gospel truth because of his dad's name (kind of like happened with O'Leary). I assume your university also failed to adequately fact check since he got this far on his dad's name. I attempted to email the athletic department with no response. You guys can now deal with the embarrassment and lies (a la George O'Leary) that come out in other ways.

SINCE he started at Duquesne. I never said he wasn't at Duquesne. He was NOT at the COllege of Charleston and nowhere around the program from 2004-2005. He was hired at Charleston at the end of the summer of 05 and was there for maybe a handful of weeks starting well after August 2005 of the 2005-2006 season before he quit to leave for Duquesne. Since Duquesne, he has been claiming the 2004-2005 College of Charleston season even though he was still at school finishing a degree at a school/program that did not have online degrees at that time.

He was not at Charleston during 2004-2005. I have the media guides from Charleston. I was there buddy. Unfortunately, a couple of National sites and the Star Tribune also have all the information now as well. Richard Pitino has lied since he got into coaching and has continued it. The funny part was he shouldn't have to since he's ridden his dad's name the whole time.

This is bad if true. Local media will be smelling blood. Wonder if it will make for an interesting press conference...

Are you kidding me? South University? lol

"Lying" is a strong word. Seems pretty clear that he graduated from Providence in May '05, and was hired by C of C that July:

Also seems clear that Richard, or somebody, held himself out as having been at C of C during the "'04-'05 season":

I dunno. Is July '05 the '04-'05 season? Could be. Doesn't seem like a huge deal to me.

lol, Richard was an admin asst to the coach at CofC for a few months after college, before getting the Northeastern job. It wasn't a full year, but technically based on their fiscal calendar he probably was hired and/or did start near the end of the 2004-05 fiscal year.

Either way, if I'm trying to lay out his history it's easier to put "2004-05" for C of C when also listing "2005-06" for Northeastern.. otherwise the dates look strange - and it's so irrelevant.

Absolutely zero to see here.

BTW, is anyone praising Richard Pitino for being an administrative assistant at Charleston? No. It's irrelevant. Some guy with two names is being a weirdo, that's all.

My thoughts exactly. Looks like a complete non story to me.

Really 3. 2 is impressive but 3...

George O'Leary lied about having a masters degree IIRC. If the press secretary slipped up while writing a press release, as this appears, this is nowhere in the ballpark

The bigger issue is why the F the U allows feels the need to allow commenting on the website like this. What good could possibly come of it? You're just giving Patherhawk or Lisa Robin Kelly another forum to spout off, as well as the usual sunny optimism of Minnesota sports fans.

Wow, you're right. I was so shocked by the usage of "Scott Christopher" that I overlooked "Kelly". Maybe none of them are a part of his real name and the guy just has multiple personalities. Seems likely.

SCK's friend: "Hey Scott, nice day out today! Can't wait for spring to finally arrive!"
SCK: "WHAT THE HELL YOU LITTLE LIAR?! IT HAS OFFICIALLY BEEN SPRING FOR TWO WEEKS! YOU ARE TRYING TO CHEAT LIKE THAT O'LEARY GUY! I AM GOING TO EMAIL YOUR MOM AND SISTER!"

I was thinking the same thing. If they are going to allow it, they need to monitor it constantly. This shouldn't be sitting out there.

Go Gophers!!

We need Joel back. We could email him. He'd respond immediately and forward it to 'the lawyers' for review.

I agree with almost everything you said except for the guy being a weirdo. I think a lot of people would be pissed if another person used a job that they did on their resume. I imagine the degree of anger is magnified when that person becomes successful/famous. I don't think the guy is being rational about the issue, but I think that's more human nature than being weird.

Have found several mentions of his position at c of c in newspaper or university athletic sites articles. Google "College of Charleston Pitino" then do some digging. Bobby Cremins and Rick Pitino both mentioned Richard‘s position at c of c. No wheels to this one. Sorry, it's so late and I looked so quickly that I have no links, but it‘s all there if you want to look.

Oh, see that while i was busy another poster threw out some of the links. Good.

No problem: prexy k has bjm on staff earning about 40 grand a month. Keep that golden parachuter humping 24x7 looking up anything you darn well please. They really staff the administration over there...

This a new low on this board. Junior, at the very least, has allowed some "misinformation" be published multiple times to pad his resume. Somebody with information calls him on it. Next step? Well of course, rip the guy who did nothing wrong to shreds. Even if you want to give Junior credit for his two weeks on the job, that means at 30 years old, he will now be working for his 7th school. Think about this hire. If someone told you after Tubby was fired that Norwood would hire a sitting head coach who has never led his team to ANY of the 4 post season tournaments, is 4 games above .500, is 30 years old and has worked at seven schools, did not play college basketball, you would be happy? Oh, and now we find out he may stretched the truth on his resume. This is a desperate hire by a desperate man.

Ignore list

I am curious to know if he even played HS basketball.
