Gronowski Presser

Yeah, this isn’t Lamar Jackson here. I don’t think we need a spy. People are probably a little gun-shy because we’ve had trouble this year keeping contain but we did 100 times better last week on that. Still a ways to go, but it’s much improved.
Kind of disagree on the spy angle. Their passing game is subpar and without his long runs against PSU their offense would have been dead in the water. Best thing you can do is force them to have to put it in the air, chances are good he will put a few up for grabs.

When did Gronowski hurt his knee? Looked fine running the ball in the 4th quarter Saturday.
He went down in the 4th quarter against Indiana. At the time he got hurt, he was 19-25 passing for 144 yards and a rushing TD. He had played quite well considering the opponent. The play he got hurt came with about 13 minutes left and the game tied at 10. It was a 3rd down scramble. Iowa made a FG on 4th down to go up by 3. Indiana responded with a FG, then Iowa's backup led a drive to Indiana's 39 where he threw a pick on third down.

Iowa intercepted a pass on IU's next possession and returned it to the Indiana 29 yard line with under 3 minutes to go. Iowa ran 2 times to force Hoosiers to burn timeouts, then on third down the backup dirted a screen pass that likely would have been a first down and perhaps a TD. If it is a first down, Iowa can run the clock to the final gun. But went from bad to worse when kicker missed a 42 yarder that would have given Iowa the lead. Indiana scores on a big play on 3rd and 10 and wins the game.

Iowa had a bye after the Indiana game, Gronowski would not have been able to play had they had a game. He played against Wisconsin, but was way limited in mobility. Much more fluid in his movements against Penn State, was still wearing a brace. But seems to be close to fully healthy.

Yeah I would guess Gophers will want to try and force Iowa to prove it can complete passes to move the ball.

Let Koi spy him.

Leidner played an entire season without his big toe fully attached to his foot. Tough SOB he was.

I wonder if we'll play more zone so our DBs can keep their eyes on him in when he decides to tuck it and run
