Go Gophers!!
I don't see this as any different than when basketball teams celebrate co-big ten titles.
YES, when your co big 10 basketball champs that is for the whole conference. Co big 10 west champs is for the division only. Huge difference.I don't see this as any different than when basketball teams celebrate co-big ten titles.

If it was the other way around, how would we be reacting to Wisc getting to claim a B1G West title? I think something is missing from your last sentence...?I don't see why it's considered a huge difference. We're not claiming co-big ten champs.
In basketball we have tiebreakers for seeding, in football we have tiebreakers for championship game eligibility. If we're calling Wisconsin a champion, then it only makes sense to include Minnesota if we're being consistent.
For the record, I think co-big ten champs in basketball are stupid, and if the B1G didn't do this in basketball I would have an issue with it.
I suppose we shouldn’t recognize any of our non outright championships for the big ten title thenYou tied for the division, and lost the tiebreaker by getting drubbed at home. Here, have a trophy.

Thanks for the BS post.We wouldn’t react
How do we react to all of Alabama’s Ridiculous national championship claims?
Earth to people....nobody cares

How do you suggest they do it in basketball when there is a tie. I have zero problem honoring co big 10 west champions but getting a tie for a division title is different than a conference title. UW got a big 10 title trophy for basketball. We did not get a big 10 football title, we did not even make the title game.I don't see why it's considered a huge difference. We're not claiming co-big ten champs.

B1G disagrees. The Big 10 West Champion gets to play the Title game against the East. Everyone else, losers. No steak knives.
Please nobody tell Tyrone....Wait, so the Big Ten sent us a trophy and people want us to NOT display it?!? I guess we are in that kind of position where we just don't have room with all our other trophies, eh?
If you're gonna go that far why even recognize the west champ. The Big 10 West Champion gets to play the Title game against the East. Everyone else, losers. No steak knives.
The west is a social construct. Why recognize anything short of a national championship? The Big 10 West Champion gets to play the Title game against the East. Everyone else, losers. No steak knives.

Not going to happen with a unbalanced schedule.I suggest they use the same criteria they already use to determine BTT seeding.
Because championship programs build their way up through division and conference championships. These things matter to those that are doing the competing. Best part of all this, the team earned the award that the conference sent them, we did not have to declare it. As a fan, of course i want the national title but i am damn proud of a season where we were co-champs of the west !The west is a social construct. Why recognize anything short of a national championship?
If you don't beat Wisconsin and you don't beat Ohio State, you didn't earn any trophy.Wait, so the Big Ten sent us a trophy and people want us to NOT display it?!? I guess we are in that kind of position where we just don't have room with all our other trophies, eh?
If the conference you’ve been a part of for a decade sends you a trophy in the mail, you by definition didIf you don't beat Wisconsin and you don't beat Ohio State, you didn't earn any trophy.
