No, I think that was in reply to people suggesting coaches and what offense they run.
 

Maybe going to make a pitch for Horton. Maturi maybe is wanting to get his thoughts about him. Unless an impression was made while being recruited by one of the contending coaches! It could also be simply to update the team on the coaching search given all that has been spread throughout the media.

Gray hasn't tweeted anything in awhile, and he's tweeted nothing I can see about Hoke period. Did Cooper accidentally respond to a direct (private) message? Am I reading too deep in to this? Are we all losing our minds?
 

It's awesome that he is located in "Minnespolis, MN" :)

Gray said the only names he knew were Belotti and Leach and was asking where the other candidates are from. Pretty sure that's just a response to that question.
 

i'm thinkimg there might be Oregon and Tennessee hats on that table too

Only thing I can think of is the fit that Gray will have with the new coach. He is our headliner as of now. Will he be with the new coach? Callhoun or Mullen?
 


Gray said the meeting would be at 2:30, so he has probably been in there for almost a half hour now. I hope he can give us a bit of an idea of what the meeting was about, he seems very twitter friendly.:)

Yeah, I saw that too.
From his first tweet about meeting, I though it sounded like he was basically "just dropping by" JM's office, but this sounds like a more formal meeting.

I can't imagine Maturi telling MG some news without telling the whole team at the same time though.

My guess is that either Marquis requested a meeting to share some of his desires/concerns about a new coach or that Joel set up the meeting to ask about Horton. I can't see Maturi asking 1 player about his preferences, etc.

This is all fascinating stuff though.
 



Maybe Maturi is meeting one on one with a number of the returning players and Gray is the only one that mentioned it.
 


If Mullen is going to be the coach, Gray has a chance to be very successful next year and into the future. Gray is exactly the type of QB needed for Mullen's system to be successful. Although Mullen does seem to be able to style his offense around his QB as a slight change in system would be needed going from Gray to Alipate. This is evident in the transition from Leak to Tebow at Florida.
 

Gray is tweeting again (nothing of substance at this point), so the meeting is now over.

It sounds like Maturi asked for the meeting. Though he might not have said anything specific to Gray, I think it was a brilliant move by Maturi on a number of levels. It let Gray know he is very important to the teams plans and just thinking about it, if Maturi has a top HC he is negotiating with, the way could be prepared for the new coach to make a connection with him.
