How can this team continually fold with leads late in the game? Horrible ball handling and terrible shot selection. Tubby and his staff show no concept offensively about how to put away a game --no purpose, no execution, no win.
 


Yeeeep...Michigan stays hot in OT. Not looking good.
 



Dre got hammered on that last second shot....total BS on the non call...litteraly ten 50-50 calls went their way down the stretch...Austin Hollins was jobbed.
 

Good game. Played hard. Should have won but end of game situations like this killed the team all year. Not sure why? Tubby (maybe) young guys with no one confident in making big shots (probably). One and done in the NIT I would guess.

Possibly, but none of that should have mattered.
 



Turn overs have killed us!

This team has to learn how to hold on to the damn ball...we wont be much better next year if we keep turning it over 15 times per game!

Gophers suck! They got a little lucky to put this game in OT. Phone says it's a 5 point game!!!! Here's the crappy part about this. Somehow the University is going to be dumb enough to extend him and we are going to have to suffer through this crap again next season, and then the season after that. It just comes as no surprise that a Tubby Smith Gophers team would fold like this in a pivotal game...and that's sad. It should be shocking when a team blows leads like the Gophers do, but it's commonplace around here.

Tubby sucks!

Well, there it is in all likelihood. Good effort for most of it from the kids. I'm excited to watch Dre develop.
 



just to let everyone know, fargo bww's was going berserk for the gophers! I know they lost, but my o my that was an amazing game and really bodes well for the future. I havent been so thoroughly entertained during a gopher game in awhile!

congrats Dre & Rodney & Coleman & Esse you're the future!
 

so 53 to 50 20 seconds left why don't we foul and let em shoot 2 free throws and then take the ball with at least a one point lead????? instead we lett em can another three and tie.........STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 

Classic Tubby. Curling up in our F$%ing shell instead of playing to win and attacking. Excuse me while I go vomit. NO LEAD IS SAFE playing keep away.
 

That was a scrappy bunch of kids out there tonight. Never gave up. Looking forward to seeing them play next year. Hope they get an NIT invite. In case no one noticed, the Gophers play in the Hawaii invitational in 2013.
 

Extremely proud of how hard the guys played and how much they battled.

Disappointed with the outcome of course, but I am encouraged for next year. Those guys are going to form a nice core, and our defense is going to allow us to win a bunch of games.

We definitely won't be a B1G bottom feeder. We're getting an NCAA tourney bid next year for sure.

I really hope I don't see anyone defend Tubby after this debacle. I cannot believe how often this has happened during the last year and a half. This might be the worst of all: 11-2 run to close regulation? 19-3 including the start of overtime? The Gopher players look like they have no idea what to do in late game situations and the bench obviously isn't providing any leadership. When all 5 guys on the court look like they are more likely to vomit than actually make a play, you have a major issue.

I don't want to hear anything about the first X number of minutes of the game as it doesn't matter if you are behind after 40 (or 45). It's been a glaring issue that no lead is safe with this team (even their one meaningful win at Indiana was almost choked away in glorious fashion).

Agreed, It is so frustrating watching us go into a passive stall for the remainder of the game at 3:00 minutes. Talking about killing momentum.
 

The choking leads is frustrating. But this team has talent and Tubby's getting another year. I hope his haters can just accept that fact and enjoy the NIT and next season. I certainly feel better now than I did one week ago, frustrating as this game was.
 

Rodney goes 1-4 on back to back FT. There is your loss right there. Also on the tip play he really did have a great look and should have made the shot.
