Gophers/TCU spread (+14) and O/U (57.5) thoughts and predictions

I'm in Vegas and was thinking of betting the Over/Under. I am leaning towards "Under", but don't want to be conflicted when the Gophs score a late TD to tie the game 31-31 and the "Over" hits.... So I'd lose my bet.

I could see the spread going either way.

Haven't seen any money lines for the game.

What are your guys thoughts on the spread and over/under?
 

I have a rule to never bet against the Gophers. As you said I don't want to be conflicted. IMO, you either bet the Gophs or don't bet. As for O/U - I think the Under is never a good bet in CFB. High scoring, garbage TDs, and overtime rules make it a sucker bet. Again, just my general rules. Good Luck.

You might be right but I would take the under.

If you are all optimistic about the gophers chances you have to be thinking a lower scoring game

Calling the under a sucker bet is a bold move considering the sharps hammer unders like crazy

As I said in my post - it is my general rule. Not trying to upset any sharps - just leaving more $ for them [emoji3].

The more I think about this game, the harder it is for me to be optimistic about winning. I can't see us holding TCU to less than 25-30 points, and I can't sere us putting up 30+ against their defense. Just my two cents.
 

I got a lot of respect for the Gophers. I have several family members that are Alum and follow them pretty close because of my dads love for the U. For this reason I predict a dog fight and my Frogs winning the game about 42 to 30. I think we have one big scoring quarter in the second half where we pull away. I can even see TCU being down in the 1st half if Minnesota brings the energy I think they will in their home stadium. The only way I see it being a bad night for the Gophers is if they catch some really bad breaks in the 1st quarter and TCU builds a big lead. I just don't see Leidner being the type of player to mount quick comeback drives. Keep it close in the 1st and this will be a good game.

I see you been away for a while and have forgotten how to speak Minnesotan. First, Minnesotans say we are going to the lake as if there was only one lake here instead of 11,000+. Second, Minnesotans normally refer to their place as the lake home or cabin, not house. This is not a big deal or problem. I am sure you pick it up again in no time. If you are really rusty you may want want to watch Fargo to be safe.

Here's wishing that have a great trip and see a Minnesota victory!

I don't disagree with you. Just wanted to get your thoughts.

I think there is a chance TCUs offense simply doesn't perform as well this year. Almost everyone on the schedule will be seeing the new look offense the second time rather than the first.

Don't know if the gopher defense can improve upon last year, but I hope they can
 




I think the Gophs +14 is the right side.
Defensively TCU should be worse than last years bunch. Offensively the Gophers should be much more effective. As long as we don't turn the ball over I think we can score 20 to 27 which should be enough to cover.

you are correct, I moved when I was 3. So my lingo is not up to par. But I do venture back to the state about once every two years so I have appreciation for all there is to offer. Fargo movie is a bit overboard, Although I have an aunt that probably could have been in that movie. See yall in 12 days!!
 

Gophers and over. TCU will score 30 but lose. Defense not that good, and Boykin will make a couple turnovers giving the Gophers a short field. 33-30 Gophers.

If I was betting the over, I would say no way the gophers win.
If I was betting the under, I would say there is a chance the gophers win.

I agree, if we are winning we are probably doing it on the ground and eating up clock on every possesion which makes the over and us winning almost mutually exclusive.
