It has already been said many times in various threads.

The path is:
Gophs beat Wisc
Iowa loses to Neb
Purdue beats IU

= 4-way tie with Wisc, Iowa, Purdue, and we would win it, basically thanks to our win over Purdue and Purdue's win over Iowa.

Iowa sucks
Nebraska sucks
Minnesota sucks
Wisconsin sucks

honestly the 2019 gophers, badgers, and Hawkeyes all win the 2021 division going away
 

Next Saturday's axe game will feature the #2 vs #4 defenses in the nation (yards) yet somehow I don't expect a low scoring slogger knocker.
 




In the end Illinois and Iowa games are meaningless toward West division. Had we won both or one of those games, beating WI would still be needed. Those games affect our bowl spot.

Illinois yes, Iowa no.

Had we beat Iowa then Wisconsin and Minnesota would be the only 6-2 teams left and would be playing for the West outright.

As it stands now, we can win against Wisconsin and lose the West depending on what Iowa does. We had a chance to control our own destiny but didn't get it done.

West or no West title....I just want the win over the Badgers at this point. Rest will sort itself out.

But you are correct that no matter what happened in those two games we would have needed to beat Wisconsin to win the West.

Well, Ohio St still has be beat Michigan (you could be indicating that Michigan would also beatdown the West team). I know that the typical calculator does not have enough zeros to show Michigan's odds of winning, but they are going to play the game, so they are not "0".

Meant there was no way to win division without beating Wisconsin this year for us.
 


They act like the two loses eliminated us. It's not the CFP where it's an invitational. Conference Champs and Division champs are actually determined on the field. We knew a month a go that beating WI would be needed to win the West. Had we beat IA and IL, we still would have had to beat WI.

Indeed, IF Purdue wins and Iowa loses, THEN the outcome of the Axe game determines the West champion.
