Who do you think will play on Sundays next fall? David Cobb for sure. Maxx if he declares. Anyone else?

Wilson has a shot. Curious if he'll be invited to the combine. I thought his play tailed off a bit as the season wore on, but that may have been due to adjustments Claeys made as opposed to how Wilson was playing.

I think Epping will get a free agent deal somewhere. Has good size and has played both G and C. He's the kind of lunch bucket guy who may impress enough to stick somewhere.

Wilson could get a look in the late rounds. Either way, I think he'll find a place. He's a good special teamer so that helps.

Epping and Olson should get signed as a free agent and both get a shot to make a team. I think Epping has a better chance.

Cedric Thompson and Wells might get a look.

I would think Thompson could find a niche as a run stopping specialist. Dude is about as solid of a tackler as you will find as a DB.

I'm curious as to why Damien Wilson isn't projected as a solid NFL LB? Is it size or speed that you think would hold him back? It seems his instincts are rock solid to me.

NFL has become such a passing league that run-stopping safeties aren't the commodity they were a generation ago. I think the question on Thompson will all boil down to how well scouts think he can cover. Claeys almost plays his safeties like LBs, so it's hard to get a read on certain aspects of their game. I wouldn't be surprised to see Thompson get a tryout or perhaps even be signed as a free agent. If nothing else, the guy would probably be a real special teams demon. The NFL has become so specialized that Thompson could find a niche. The guy is fearless.

I think the same logic applies to Wilson.

I think Thompson would make a great special teams guy, who can fill in at safety when needed.

Wilson and Cobb are the only 2 I'm sure of and my guess is both will be drafted. Epping and Olson have a shot as well but I'm not sure if either is draftable. Botti will be in someone's camp too IMO

Agree with most here that Cobb is the only lock to get drafted (unless Maxx decides to come out). Wilson may go in the later rounds and I think has a good shot to end up on a roster next fall. As mentioned by others the guys on the O-Line are unlikely to get drafted but both have a shot of making it as FA pickups somewhere.

Wilson will get late round flyer if he proves he can run in the 40. Cobb will get taken in 3rd-6th depending on his combine numbers. Epping and Olson maybe get a really late pick (6-7th). Thompson again will have a shot if he shows he can run and has lateral quickness. Maxx is coming back but would be a 2nd-3rd rounder in my eyes. Overall predictions:

Cobb: 4th round
Wilson: 6th
Thompson: 7th (think his cover skills are better than he gets credit for
Rest will get camp offers; could see the Vikings inviting several of these guys to camp.
Maxx comes back for another go around to vault his stock up to a 1st rounder.

Thompson will have to show his versatility at corner and saftey as well as ST

Defensive backs that can play special teams that are young and work cheap as in fit in on the salary cap cheaply seem to be a desireable trait in the NFL. Thompson played some CB in his younger days, so he is going to have to probably drop a small amount of weight and work on his quickness, show that he can play corner and safety be a utility guy. If he can show how he fits on special teams he has the chance to make a team as an unrestricted free agent. Thomposon is definitly someone that should go to one of those training centers after the bowl game and work at improving his quickness a little bit. He seems like the hard working type if given a shot that he could have a chance to make a roster especially if he excels at special teams coverage. I would have to think he could at least make money in the CFL if he doesn't catch on with an NFL roster.
