He won the press conference. Wisconsin is officially the enemy solidifies that he is one of us.
Obviously a well spoken sharp guy. 3.94 GPA with a Bachelors degree in Math and Physics.
Considers himself a shotmaker. Led the team in steals and was 2nd in rebounding. Averaged 20 points a game this past season. Considers defense his avenue to playing time for the Gophers.
Did laundry for the basketball team every day for the past three years. Wants to get a Masters Degree this year at Minnesota.

She didn't ask him many basketball questions. I would have like to hear whether he envisions himself as a PG or prefers to play off the ball. He certainly showed great ability to create his own shot in the one game against us. Great kid who understands he is likely to be more of a role player at this level. He is going to be interesting to watch. Who knows...

Williams Added to the 2024-25 Men’s Basketball Roster
MINNEAPOLIS - University of Minnesota men’s basketball head coach Ben Johnson has announced that Caleb Williams (Wild Rose, Wis.) will join the Golden Gopher program for the 2024-25 season. Williams, a standout at Macalester College (Minn.), has a year of remaining eligibility.
“We're really excited to add Caleb to our team,” Johnson said. We’ve seen firsthand his ability to be a good player for us. His game translates to our college level, and we’re looking forward to bringing his experience into the program. He’s a player who has a passion for playing at this University, in this area, and finishes his career here on the biggest stage.”
Williams, a 6-foot, 2-inch guard, was the Scots’ leading scorer for three straight years and a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) top-three scorer each season. Williams finished his career as a three-time All-Region and All-MIAC athlete. Williams averaged 20 points and 35.7 minutes in his junior campaign last season, averaging 44 percent from the field and 34.2 from three-point range. He was also an 83.7 percent shooter from the charity stripe. Throughout his Macalester career, Williams scored 1,566 points, which ranks third all-time by a Scot. He also averaged 34.6 career minutes, a 43 percent career field goal shooter and 36.7 from three. Williams scored a career-high 51 points in his junior year against Concordia-Moorhead but turned heads when he scored 41 points in an exhibition game against his future team at Williams Arena last November. Williams was also a two-time Academic all-American majoring in physics and mathematics.
While playing for Wild Rose High School, Williams was a four-time all-conference selection and the 2020 Conference Player of the Year. He was also an all-state and academic all-state selection during his time there. Williams was also an all-conference track athlete in triple jump and high jump and was the 2019 state triple jump champion.
