Pastner: Why It Works

Pastner is young, energetic and has a reputation as a tireless recruiter.

Pastner is a Villa 7 alum who Ellis has touted as one of the big succcess stories of the program.

Memphis' conference situation is a mess. While the program has good history, a good recruiting base and a solid national brand, the conference situation could get really ugly for the Tigers and this could motivate Pastner to jump.

Pastner: Why It Doesn't Work

Memphis fans have grown frustrated with Pastner for many of the reasons that Gopher fans grew frustrated with Tubby - lack of offense, lack of player development and some off the court issues.

Pastner likely wouldn't be the big man in the athletic department at the U like he is at Memphis and that could be a turn off for him.

Count me as someone not impressed by Pastner as well.

If the player development issues are true, then it's a no. Tubby's biggest downfall was player development.

Looks like this is not an option, just saw this tweet:

@GaryParrishCBS: Asked if he's agreed in principle to a new contract with Memphis, Josh Pastner told @CBSSports, "That is accurate
