I love Anderson's response to the second tweet asking why they don't say no anyway. Again, truly amazing what kind of stuff people will choose to get upset about these days.
 

Overreaction based on speculation and not facts? Just another day on GopherHole.
 


In the end whether he meant it as a joke or truly didn't know the full story it was pretty irresponsible for Pearson to toss out the initial comment. He should understand the massive inferiority complex Gopher fans have when it comest to anything related to the Vikings.

This story is dumb, and the "fan outrage" which will no doubt become a "talker" in MSP media really amounts to a few dozen people in a state of 5 million tweeting about something. Media in this town is hilariously bad, and it's all the more hilarious that their go-to story is that fans are dumb, with the proof ALWAYS being anecdotal evidence from twitter or talk show callers. Just think if crime reporters spent as much time finding the worst tweets or strib comments and made that the go-to story for policy issues rather than the crimes themselves. Credit the local sports media, they do a wonderful job of circling the wagons and an even better job of caricaturing their audience based on the most stupid or reactionary 1%.
 




If it has to do with the Vikings, it probably won't work.

Does heatergate lead to more tension between OSU and the Gophers. Something tells me the Chilli will be quite hot on Saturday even if the weather is not.
 

I think the Gophers are just lulling them in with Minnesota nice.....then the game starts and the suckeyes are in for a rude awakening! Imho
 

Make OSU think of how to keep warm instead of football and nail their asses bigtime!

We need our media to tell the Columbus media how cold and snowy it is up here. So cold the Bucks may not be able to hold on to the football or dance around. Just bad weather conditions. ha.

So does this mean that we have to play for the bench every year?

I'm told this is how rivalries start.

If this is anything like how the Jug started, I can see how people might think trophy games are forced and stupid.

We need a trophy for this game now because if there is one thing we definitely don't have enough of at this point is trophy games. Use solar panels or something so that the trophy is always warm no matter how cold it is outside.....

I'm thinking we call it "The Bench" Bowl, and the winner gets to use the heated bench at the next meeting. All future meetings must take place in mid-November under the lights.

Now all we need is for one of the AD's to say something blatantly sexist directed at the opposing coaches wives to get this rivalry started.

Man, starting rivalries over frivolous events is both exciting and fun!
 


Funny that the equipment manager morphed into the Strength and Conditioning coach.:confused:

My bad. I keep thinking of coach Klein. I saw one of the early tweets that said Gopher equipment and made an assumption. Regarding this issue, I wasn't the first.
