They also scored 24 against a bad Indiana defense. Bowling Green is the only FBS school to not score at least 41 on them.
By "them" I assume you mean Indiana. I think a better comparison would be how PSU has done in
all of their games, not just one - follows:
08/31/13 vs. Syracuse TV MetLife Stadium; East Rutherford, N.J. W, 23-17
09/07/13 vs. Eastern Michigan TV University Park, Pa. W, 45-7
09/14/13 vs. UCF TV University Park, Pa. L, 34-31
09/21/13 vs. Kent State TV University Park, Pa. W, 34-0
10/05/13 at Indiana * TV Bloomington, Ind. L, 44-24
10/12/13 vs. Michigan * TV University Park, Pa. W, 43-40 (4OT)
10/26/13 at Ohio State * TV Columbus, Ohio L, 63-14
11/02/13 vs. Illinois * TV University Park, Pa. W, 24-17 (OT)
11/09/13 at Minnesota * Minneapolis, Minn. TBA
11/16/13 vs. Purdue * University Park, Pa. TBA
11/23/13 vs. Nebraska * University Park, Pa. TBA
11/30/13 at Wisconsin * Madison, Wis. TBA
The only
bad performances from PSU this year have been the @Indiana game (22-44) and @OSU (14-63). And one can hardly blame the latter, OSU is an elite team.
This seems like a good time to face PSU, however, as their past two outings haven't been great (the OSU loss and a mediocre performance vs. Illinois at home).
PSU has, perhaps, the best WR in the B1G in Allen Robinson (he vice J. Gallon?) - he is one of the best WRs in the nation. They have an elite freshman QB in Hackenberg, and a RB/OL who is just starting to really figure things out in Bill Belton. That Illinois held PSU to 17 points in regulation is a real mystery. PSU's problem is their defense, more than their offense. Given the Gophers' D, expect to give up ~20-30 points. The offense needs to come to play again, as anything less than a good performance on that side of the ball will make victory difficult.
