We need rational voices as a counterweight. If people like you leave the impression (for impressionable young minds) is everyone accepts extreme ideology which is far from the case.

Dude, how nearly everyone on GH feels about you:

"I would appreciate it, and so would many others in this community, if you would be willing to investigate and seek to understand others ideas and thoughts instead of just simply put people down because you don’t agree with their view points. Part of the divide of this great country and issue we have eight now is that few people seek to understand. Instead they strive to force people to agree with themselves. Take this or leave this, I do think it’s valuable. We will not all agree, but it is such a deeper and richer conversation when we give an attempt to ask another why they may think that way and truly look for understanding"

That is how nearly everyone .... in the radical far right cadre on GH feels. True.

Don't get me wrong, you guys are the majority of the active posters, particularly on the OTB.


There's nothing wrong with moderate fiscal and social conservatism. I even dabble in both. But there is very much wrong in far right extremism. It is a mental disease.

No they just run over a young woman in their car who is protesting evil and kills her in Virginia, they just use their assault rifles to kill two unarmed men who are protesting in Kenosha, they just drive through protesters with trucks spraying mace in Portland, should I go on? Stop being a hypocrite. Give me one example of someone on the the left who has killed someone on the right? The Senator wasn’t even assaulted. trump is inciting violence and anyone who supports him is implicit. He wants the violence so he can talk law and order and it’s a sham just like he is, and you and people like you buy into into because you can’t and don’t want to handle the truth. trump is no friend of the poor, the working class, or minorities but people like you and Jack Brewer can believe it at your peril. Who was behind the Civil Riights Act, the Voting Rights Act, who gave us Social Security and Medicare, it was the Democrats. Who wants to take away Civil Rights, who wants voter suppression, who wants to destroy Social Security and Medicare, it’s the Republicans. If you are for trump you are against Democracy and you are against Racial Justice.

You really need to educate yourself. People like can just keep your head buried in the sand ignoring reality and watch this country be divided not by the extremely toxic leftism as you put it, but the extremely toxic right who can’t and don’t want to except the fact that the world is changing and needs to change for the better. The fact that it is 2020 and we still have racial inequality and voter suppression is disgusting. Keep living in your make believe world, keep being afraid of change. I guess the old Rickster was not paying much attention in history class ( I am assuming he is old enough to be part of the days when they used to teach real history in school), or did not read too much non-fiction either.

Anyone who paid any attention knows that the the statements in bold by the Rickster above are completely incorrect. Republicans were the reason the Civil Rights and Voting Acts moved forward.

The Klan supporting Democrats, too many to mention here, fought these measures tooth and nail to the end.

He did not mention Lyndon Johnson's great society, and that was the genesis of today's Liberal Plantation that was built on the desolate graveyard of the Black family structure, with fathers out of the picture.

The lack of any male presence in a large number of black households is behind so many of the problems that the Government keeps throwing money at with terrible results. (see the so called "achievement gap".

And please, someone please show me where the right ever took away anyone's Social Security. I know the Democrats like to tax the hell out of Senior Citizen income, which is the same thing as cutting Social Security.

Not forced, no. But an argument can and has been made where the welfare programs actually made it easier for the dad to leave and many did. There is correlation.
