Sorry I can't fit all the players because I can only attach limited photos. Also, stats and subjective playing judgements are beyond my abilities, especially or defense. I went with various stat lists.

Ohio State Women's Hockey has not lost a game -- since Minnesota beat them.

MINNEAPOLIS – Sophomore goaltender Skylar Vetter and freshman forward Josefin Bouveng have been named WCHA weekly award winners on Monday afternoon after a series sweep at No. 6 Minnesota Duluth.

Skylar Vetter earned her sixth WCHA Goaltender of the Week award this season after stopping 55/59 shots this weekend in a pair of road victories over No. 6 Minnesota Duluth. Vetter made 31 saves in a 3-1 win on Friday and topped it off with 24 stops in a 4-3 victory on Saturday. The Lakeville, Minn., native has won 11-straight starts to improve her record to 19-3-2 with a 1.71 GAA and a .927 Sv%.

Josefin Bouveng was named WCHA Rookie of the Week for the first time in her career after recording a goal and an assist over the weekend. Bouveng's multi-point game on Saturday was the third of her career. The Vassunda, Sweden native ranks first among Gopher rookies in scoring (9g-6a) this season and has scored a goal in each of the last four WCHA series.

The Gophers are good!

An interesting side note... UMD's Ning Jobst-Smith was named defender of the month, and Minnesota just swept the tough UMD team.

From Article:

Grace Zumwinkle earned the sixth WCHA monthly honor of her career after a dominant start to the second half. Through the first eight games of 2023, Zumwinkle tallied a team-high 16 points with eight goals and eight assists. The Excelsior, Minn., was named WCHA Forward of the Week to open January after becoming the sixth player in program history to reach 100 career goals. This season Zumwinkle ranks first in the nation in goals (21) and second in points (47) – both good for first in the WCHA.

Skylar Vetter is named WCHA Goaltender of the Month for the third time this season after earning her sixth conference goaltender of the week honor yesterday afternoon. Vetter posted a perfect 7-0-0 record with a 1.20 GAA and a .941 Sv% in the first month of 2023. The Lakeville, Minn., native has won 11-straight starts, while allowing one goal or fewer in nine of them, to improve her record to 19-3-2. Vetter backstopped the Gophers to a road sweep over No. 6 Minnesota Duluth to close out January and earn her 25th career victory."

Gophers goal called not a goal.

Gophers had a power play. Ohio State broke away for a close shorthanded scoring attempt but Skylar Vetter made the save.

Then the Gophers scored.

1675470204280.png

But the puck was held under the goaltender pad for about 2 seconds so the play was called dead.

And then a beautiful pass by Josefin Bouvent to Peyton Hemp leads to a score!!

Gophers lead 1-0!

Phanton penalty against Gophers for roughing. Nothing can be seen on replay. Ohio State with a power play on phantom call.

And Ohio State pulls within 1 goal after a close goal and then another goal skating around the Gopher defender.

Ohio State now is outhustling Minnesota.

Lately the Gophers have been playing like this against Ohio State. Gets a lead, gives up late goals only to lose in OT or SO.

The announcer disagrees with the penalty against Minnesota.

Ohio State gets a penalty for interfering with the Gophers player, tripping the player.

But gives a penalty to the Gopher for embelishment as she falls to the ice.
