Jeff Dubay has famously had his problems. Hope they're behind him because he's an unabashed Gopher supporter. Not in Sid's mold, he's not an apologist. He criticizes the Gophers when he should. You can always tell though that it hurts him doing it.

Hope he stays on full time - He would be a solid supporter for Gopher football. It's nice to see him get a shot with 1500.

I've seen him at a lot of games and at Sally's for pregame with water in hand.

Wish him the absolute best and hope he succeeds.

We haven't had a clear voice of Gopher sports since he left radio.

Good for him.

Really a good guy. Hung out with him when the Timberwoves "Crunch" (#2) was around.

I have not listened to local sports radio for over 5 years, literally , but I'll give him a shot. I'll echo it again, I don't want some knee-pad suckling of Gopher sports, just some informed reporting. And I think that Jeff can deliver that.

Dubay was great. I hope he keeps it going and doesn't make the people who are giving him a third chance look like a fool.

He is the best guy in this market in supporting Gopher athletics.

PA and Dubay together were awesome, shame they can reunite those two again but glad to see him get another shot. Hopefully he can stay clean and blow it this time. He defintely supports the U of M so good to see him get back on the air.

I think he had enough "blow" the last time around. Lets hope he stays clean and sticks to candy, and not the type of candy that makes you dandy.

Yeah, this is cool that he's getting another shot. I didnt' even realize Joe Anderson was let go. I thought he was entertaining at times, but there was very little coverage of Gopher Football on their show.

Smart play by KSTP, bringing PA's former co-host to compete against him.

I don't know if he made up the term, but the first time I heard Dark Star call cocaine "Booger Sugar", that easily became my favorite term for the drug, followed closely by "Peruvian Marching Powder."

Very glad about this. In college, I listened to PA and Dubay every day. And when Dubay was let go, it became unlistenable. Dubay is one of the best radio personalities in the market. Hope he gets a contract out of this. That being said, is it still nearly impossible to podcast 1500 shows?

+1. always liked jeff dubay. hope he is able to keep it straight this time around. best of luck to him.

I agree with everyone else. PA & Dubay were an awesome show. I always thought PA was the "Michael Jordan" and Dubay was the "Scottie Pippin" but once Dubay left, PA's show became much worse, border line unlistenable.

PA was good as the zany sidekick. His show is unlistenable for the same reason that Kramer spin offs never had any success.

I listen to a lot of KFAN, and I too enjoyed PA and Dubay. My problem with Dubay being on KSTP is the "AM factor". Since KFAN moved to FM I have found it very difficult to go back to AM sports or talk radio. Even now, when I hop in the car to get one of my kids to or from an activity and tune to KSTP to hear a Gopher BB game, half the time I can't even tune it in without a bunch of static and whistling and I live in the metro area. I guess FM has spoiled me. That said, I also agree that PA by himself isn't as good of a show. When he speaks on topics that I am very familiar with, he comes off as being very uninformed. Therefore, when he speaks on topics that I am not as familiar with but have interest, I can't help but wonder if he is as badly ill-informed with that as well. All that conspires for me to avoid his show.

PA by himself is a total trainwreck. I honestly don't see how he is still employed, or how they haven't forced a co-host on him.

If they ever lost the Vikings he would be done, they keep him on in large part because of his play-by-play duties which he is insanely popular with Vikings fans for.

Agree with this 100%. PA really has never been listenable since Dubay left. He tries to act cool but fails...don't even like him on Vikes radio.

Which is even more amazing to me than anything else. Have people around here ever listened to a real, quality PBP man? Cripes!

No, he wouldn't be done. He'd move to Louisville and make a play for Churchill Downs' Announcer. He passed on that opportunity in 2009.

Just turned on AM1500. Dubay is on the air now.

I have been listening off and on. I haven't heard any Gopher related coverage. Mostly Viking coverage thus far, with some Tpup conversation.

Dubay and zulgad had great chemistry. I really enjoyed the show.

I just meant he would be done at KFAN. I think he is great at calling horse races and his Viking PBP is just fine, it's a little over the top but I enjoy it.

It was a good listen today when i was in the cities i turned off PA and listen to Dubay.. I just like his energy and his takes are usually right on. I hope sticks around!!! Good luck man!
