In addition, the 2 position coaches that recruited her have left coaching - Katie Richardson Strehlow and Carly Wynn. But, I'm still hoping it's not true.I’m sure she’s got big money calling her name. Wouldn’t blame her.

Drat!
No, but sure makes me question following college softball beyond my own kid at this point. Can’t blame her.
Oklahoma's gonna win every title until Patty retires and then half once her kid is running the team anywaysNo, but sure makes me question following college softball beyond my own kid at this point.
Gotta believe someone came through with money. Enough to change her mind. The thing I don't understand is:
Why go through Fall Ball, when you are going to transfer? Why not transfer during the summer, so you can play in the fall at your new school?
Because nothing means less than fall ball. Especially if you are the reigning B10 player of the year. The thing I don't understand is:

I agree with Gopher68....this wasn't about money.... though now she stands to make a lot from it. I think a lot will be shown from where she ends up. If it's anywhere but somewhere in Cali or Arizona, then yes, it's about money. What will really irritate me is if she ends up at Nebraska...her younger sister just committed there, even though they won't play together, I would say it's pretty shady if she ends up there.Gotta believe someone came through with money. If everyone on Oklahoma gets 40k to play there, then certainly there are other schools paying well too. No it doesn't compare to football or basketball.Hard to believe there's much money in softball still outside of the top 2-3 schools and 5-10 players
I'd be surprised if Oakland nil value is above 20kIf everyone on Oklahoma gets 40k to play there, then certainly there are other schools paying well too. No it doesn't compare to football or basketball.
While Jess leaving will definitely hurt, the Gophers did lose a two time BIG player of the year and seemed to do pretty well without her.My enthusiasm is WAY down for the 2025 season. I am just being honest.
I try not to get attached to the players anymore especially in the NIL era and just enjoy the time they are with the gophers. I do appreciate the players that stay all 4 years and true to their commitment. While Jess leaving will definitely hurt, the Gophers did lose a two time BIG player of the year and seemed to do pretty well without her.
The offense had a lot more talent a few years ago than now, Oakland was 20/54 of the HRs and had a lot of .200 range hitters in lineup last yearWhile Jess leaving will definitely hurt, the Gophers did lose a two time BIG player of the year and seemed to do pretty well without her.
Family is very important to some people. I get it.I agree with Gopher68....this wasn't about money.... though now she stands to make a lot from it. I think a lot will be shown from where she ends up. They won't play together-age wise they are 5 years apart. Family has nothing to do with wanting to leave...Unless she's homesick or something similar wanting to be home...then transferring to a Standford or UCLA makes sense. If she ends up at a Florida State/Texas/Oklahoma/Duke/etc....this was about money.Family is very important to some people. I get it.
I agree the timing is weird. But college coaches are in the business of finding your replacement as a player. If they can improve, they will try to. I also think a lot of programs save money out until after the season begins, just in case they have an injury or someone leaves, that they can get a transfer if needed.I still cant get over the timing of this move. Don't most programs start play in early Feb? So she is going to find a program and fit into a starting position in less than two months? Wouldn't most schools already be full with scholarships this late and have a determined infield set? Maybe I am missing something which could definitely be the case. lol I thought she was really close with Krapf too.
