I see that now on the WCWS provider's website. The tickets I saw on Stubhub were lower bowl for the whole event. I heard via a couple podcasts that tickets have been sold out for months. Maybe that was bad info.
 





long game, pitcher's duel, but all runs were driven in by HRs.

Finally able to get the game. Miss the first inning. Good grief. UCLA so far showing why they are ranked where they are. Hopefully at this point we can hold them (0-2 now) and get some runs. Fiser appears to have rebounded with her pitching.

Just down 2-3 and a tough third out at 2nd in the top of the 6th. One more shot. Can be done. Bats coming around.

gotta feel for Amber, she did a very good job, and certainly good enough to win... should have only been down 1 going into the 7th...

Bottom line is that they gave themselves a chance and then kicked it away. Can't do that at this level. Battled hard, but can't make those mistakes and expect to beat elite teams. Just doesn't happen.

Move on and focus on UW tomorrow...

For the most part they didn't get blown out. Yes 2-7. With a little luck was only going to be 2-3 or 2-4 going into the 7th. Washington is a good team as well. Shoots, they all are for that matter. Going to be tough but we can do it.

They can compete with these teams, no question. But have to stay aggressive and focused throughout. Did that up until the sixth. Not good enough here. Need a full, focused approach all seven innings every time out.

We beat Georgia in game 2 because they gave us 5 outs in inning 1 before DenHartog's HR. Today we returned the favor to UCLA in inning 6; Arneson could've contented herself with a long single and Partain could've fielded that ball. The Gophers seemed 'out of it' for about the first 4 innings.

Maybe some "wide eyes" on the big stage. I mean this is the real deal and the first time here for everyone including the coaches. You know you are in the WCWS when you play Washington in the "losers" bracket. UCLA is the real deal and ranked #2 for a reason. We need to play our A game for seven innings in all facets of the game at this point in the season. Saturday is a new day.
