In light of recent events, I as a dedicated alumni of this University have been looking for other ways to spend my money in support. I recently discovered a fund dedicated solely to our beloved mascot to support all of the crazy things he does throughout the year, both seen and unseen. Goldy provides entertainment to people at all men's and women's athletics events, community events, and private events throughout the year.

Since Goldy was moved from the band to the athletic department in the early 90’s, over 50 people have spent time as Minnesota's favorite mascot (Here's proof! http://strib.mn/2hlha7R). This year Goldy has qualified in 2nd place for the UCA Nationals and hopes to bring home Goldy's 3rd-ever national championship this January. These are good kids, working hard behind the scenes to project a positive image on the university and ask nothing in return. Everything they do to prepare for and perform at games and Nationals is usually out of pocket so anything can help.

If you feel the desire to help Goldy give you a great game day experience and continue to offer up his antics, please show your support, as I have, by clicking on the link to donate to the Goldy Gopher Enhancement Fund.

https://give.umn.edu/giveto/goldy

Donations to this fund are 100% Tax Deductible and ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE GOLDY GOPHER ENHANCEMENT FUND.

Can we just hire Goldy to be our AD?

Sure it would all be mimed but as it is it's just mined with words now...

Hey, why not hire Goldy as prez of the U? He clearly can communicate better than Kaler.

I know his chiropractic expenses for cervical vertebrae adjustment is enormous. Head spinning is quite traumatic. Yes, I will donate. God bless!

Count me in! I have second hand knowledge as to what Goldy goes through on a typical game day and he's going to need all the help he can get after this fiasco. Ski-u-mah! Goldy, Ski-u-mah!!!

Not a dime to the University until Kaler is gone.

The headline sounds like Goldy is getting a bottle of Extenze.

I think he already stated an amount. What about you. Big spender:confused:

I am most definitely not. Season ticket holder for football. Usually 2-4 hoops games a season. That's it. Not enough money to give away to a school I didn't attend.

I hear ya. I'm a UM graduate and I cant imagine donating to another school of equal stature. In fact, I don't give every year; kinda like to spread it around: church, various charities, myself. I do know I don't want my $$ going to somebody' salary:mad:

Goldy is a sure thing...natty, baby! Thanks for posting about this!

Just to clarify, I think this fund is going to help Goldy pay for things/props. Not salaries. These kids are student athletes and all those props/Halloween costumes/etc. come out of their pocket money. I bet it costs a lot to turn Goldy into Buzz Lightyear. Duct tape isn't cheap [emoji6]
