Gilreath: TCF is "No Camp Randall"

I feel for the guy and understand where he's coming from. I mean if I covered a team that sucks as much as the badgers in a state that sucks as much as Wisconsin, I'd feel the need to lash out at anything that makes my suckiness seem all the more suckfull. Poor guy.

what do you expect?

He comes from a family of classless jacka**es, why wouldn't he be one?
I, for one, thank God TCF isn't like Wisconsin's erector set joke of of stadium. The atmosphere inside is nice, but the stadium itself isn't great. They have remodled but the stuff that sucks, still sucks. You can put a pig in a dress, but it's still a red pig.

Damn it, schnoodler

you beat me to it!

Gilreath was actually committed to the Gophers until after Mason was fired. Interesting how things change now.

his dad has always been a classless jacka**...

where he ended up did not change that, nor did it change how bad Wisconsin sucks.

His points he uses to trash TCF:

1) It's smaller than Camp Randall
2) It's not a Bowl

Rebuttal: We can expand the stadium. And it doesn't have to be a bowl.

He admits "The horseshoe shape allows for an impressive entranceway underneath the nation's third largest scoreboard". And he admits that he has only seen the stadium empty, he hasn't been there for a game. He's basing his assessment of the game day atmosphere on what he's seen on TV. You really can't tell much about the atmosphere of the game from what you see on TV. And he bashed Gopher fans, saying that they aren't particularly "rabid". That was in the Dome, it's totally different at the new stadium.

My response to this "review"? Yawn.

Who is Gilreath??? There was some guy who had some decent returns at the beginning of his career but has become completely irrelevant in the Badger passing game, is this the same guy??? If so, since when do backups get interviewed???

By the way the 5th quarter thing is dumb. Why don't they just call it 3rd half.

That's okay. Gilreath is no Eric Decker or even Brandon Green.

Beat me to it. I'll start giving a crap what Gilreath thinks about TCF when the Gophers are done parading the axe around the field after the game. Maybe.

I have always been a fan of the old campus bar...

the Improper Fraction why not list it as 5/4? Well that sucks. Do the have improper fractions in Wisconsin?

Ok, we win you stop sucking as much as you do. You win we'll try not to notice the smell you left behind after you returned to sucky wisconsin.

What would you expect from a biased blog like that? The thing is, we know how loud it is and we know what the atmosphere is like during a game. It is only going to get better. So, if some blog writer who drove by it in August thinks differently, who cares? What matters is reality and we already know about that reality.

My favorite quote from the blog entry...

"I'm not convinced the Maroon and Gold can make the Badgers feel like they are in a hostile environment."

Now, if the comment was "I'm not convinced the Gophers can beat the Badgers on Saturday", how could you disagree? Nobody knows.

But, the atmosphere in TCF is already a proven thing and that statement is just plain false. So, the fella that wrote that will find out how wrong he is. We all KNOW that. If it was a hostile environment for our brothers from the Air Force Acadamy, I'm pretty sure the home crowd won't take the day off against their biggest rivals.

I don't live in Wisconsin, and other than the time I spent in school, I have never lived in Wisconsin. I've spent plenty of time in both Wisconsin and Minnesota though, and I frankly don't see much of a difference between them.

Badger backbencher: "It's state of the art, but it's no camp randall".... He did see it on TV, though, so clearly he knows what he is talking about. Gotta love it.

Saying TCF Bank Stadium is no Camp Randall is like saying Minneapolis is no Milwaukee. It's not and for that I say thank God I'm a Gopher fan living in Minneapolis.

I'm not a doctor, but I watch House, so let me give you my medical diagnosis...

Wow that little bit of time there infected you to this degree. Isn't there some sort of medications or treatment for this. I feel for you, to go through life with such a cloud of suckdom. Everything will be alright.

Did you think he was going to say it blows Camp Randall out of the water and is the greatest stadium in the history of the world?

Yes. But the open end is not conducive to starting the the wave, so I can kind of see where he is coming from.

If GV stands for Golden Valley, I'm embarassed that you may be a Hopkins grad. You seem more like the Robbinsdale type though.

No it won't. Even if Wisconsin wins on Saturday, he'll still be a Badger when he wakes up Sunday morning. Things will never be alright for him. He is one freak lab accident away from being super villain without the cool utility belt, laser gun, or jet pack. :(

Are you suggesting that he just might be looking at this through red and white glasses a bit? :D
