George Rohl Commits

This is the lamest take ever.
First time reading one of his posts???

They went after him because they think he'll be able to contribute.
Exactly!!!

Nick Kallerup only had an offer from 1 FCS school (USD) before walking on and is now collecting an NFL paycheck.
Guts like this besides providing the players you need to effectively practice, add depth to the position, push the players in front of them (as they’ll be working their tails off) and contribute to the culture, which is a huge part of Flecks program!!!!

This is the lamest reply ever.

Can he contribute right away? I highly doubt it or he'd have more offers and such. Why let him sit on our bench for a few years hoping he can contribute later? Why not go get a transfer who can contribute immediately and then bring this guy in when said transfer graduates?

And yes, there are examples like you mentioned, although it's not apples to apples since this guy is eating up a scholly versus the walk-on you mentioned, but in this day and age, what's wrong with letting someone else develop him?

I can make a longer list of players like Spencer Alvarez (the local dude who was like a 2* but we took him in 2020 or whatever) that never amounted to squat than you can make a list of these guys being successful.

Geez, only positive things on this board, eh?
He would actually have to enter the transfer portal in order for us to go and get him later. Obviously it happens where teams are contacting players on teams, maybe I’m naive but I don’t think that’s that the standard operating procedure. I’m sure we will be going after some transfer targets as well at the tight end position. But letting a guy develop elsewhere then snagging him is easier said than done as anyone who proves themselves elsewhere will attract many more suitors.
