One of the best opportunities we'll have to get a signature win. Hopefully Craft doesn't shut down Mathieu and/or Dre. We'll need a good game from Austin, it would be nice to see him get a double-double for us. LaQuinton Ross scares me as well.

Quick note, the game is in Minnesota, not OSU.

Also, I propose we ban the use of "tOSU" to identify OSU. The name of OSU is Ohio State University, not The Ohio State University. The "the" that they use in front of their name screams of pompousness and arrogance. We shouldn't recognize such arrogance.

He's right about playing inside-out, but I don't know if we are capable of doing that.

 yes yes +1. One of the most pompous things in all of college sports, let's not stroke their ego.

3.5 point underdogs. When is the last time we beat OSU? 2009?

If the officials call the game close we will win with the Dre's hitting a lot of free throws. If they allow hand checking it will be a long night.

FSN: Close loss fuels optimism for Gophers against Ohio State

"Michigan State may be the best home-court advantage in all of college basketball, and we looked like veterans who were unfazed. That was great," Pitino said. "But we made a lot of crucial mistakes down the stretch in overtime, especially, just not executing. . . . I think we somewhat blew a bit of an opportunity, but we've also got great potential."

Go Gophers!!

How could you forget Evan Turner's comeback in 2010? How all the analysts kept acting like he didn't play in that game?

I happen to think it is the other way around regarding the officiating. If the refs call it tight, that is when Ross is most dangerous (MSU got away with a number of "not fouls" on him & that's the only game he hasn't played well lately), Scott doesn't really do much hand checking ... and overall OSU has been a low foul team and doesn't tend to put teams at the foul line much so a tight game won't be hard for them to adjust to.

Oops, meant 09-10 season.

But he definitely wasn't full strength right??

He had 18 or 20 points and played great. I will forever hate Clark Kellogg because every B1G game he called after that game he always said Turner was out so it shouldn't count as a good win on our resume. Such an idiot.

ETA: Looked it up. He had an even better game than I remember... http://espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=300090135

19 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks.

And it was his second game back, making Kellogg look even dumber.

Story checks out. OSU 8th best in the country at not putting the other team on the line.

Haha, exactly. I was being sarcastic from Kellogg's comments.

I remember that. What an *ss. If Kellogg ever wonders why he disappeared from the national scene (at least, I never see him calling big games any more), somebody should remind him of this.

Very big game tonight for both teams, for different reasons. I was very disappointed to see OSU lose at home to Iowa. How the heck did that happen? I think it substantially decreases our chances of winning tonight, as OSU will (at least should) be playing with a great sense of urgency. As should we.

Yeah, leading the conference in scoring and rebounding, 2nd in assists, 3rd in steals, 6th in FG percentage, and 11th in blocks totally makes him "very overrated".

Perhaps I should clarify. He was a very overrated NBA prospect. He was a very good college player.

He was drafted way too high.

You are probably right (Paul George was drafted after him), but he is not a bust and playing very well right now. Currently averaging 19 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists. Players I'd consider ahead of him would be George, John Wall (who did go ahead of him), Cousins, and Bledsoe. Equally good players would include Monroe, Hayward, and Sanders. There were also more than a few busts in that draft class.

We just don't match up well at all with Ohio St. I see this as 10 plus point loss tonight. Craft guarding Dre hollins is a big problem Dre will have about 5-8 points. They are number 3 in the country in defending the 3 ouch. There weakness is post play we have no post game. They are long on the wings and very athletic. I hope for a close game but just don't see it.

Good thing at least Vegas disagrees with you.
