Well, this certainly sucks for Gabe and the team. Normal for the Gophers, unfortunately.

We are now down three scholarship players from the beginning of the season.

So, there goes your best perimeter defender, your best team player and your least likely player to whine about well, anything really! He just plays. He can lead from the bench though!

If Gabe is the only person who can play solid defense, then this team doesn't deserve to win.
Gabe seems like a great kid. He seems cerebral, which hurts him with overthinking his shot, and caring about the welfare of others. I will not be surprised to see Gabe as a leader in business and society as time goes by. Getting hurt is a bummer for any competitive athlete. I wish him well.

But I do think it depends a lot on what actually needs to be stabilized and protected

a sling doesn’t necessarily mean more or less severity
