I found out today you can get as tight of a stomach watching a game update every 30 seconds (thank you cbs sportsline) as you can watching a game live. Anyway, these stats are unofficial, but some fun numbers to look at:
Louisville's entire backcourt (Jerry Smith, Edgar Sosa, Preston Knowles, and Andre McGee) outscored Al Nolen by one point (19-18)
The Gophers defeated Louisville with their top scorer, Lawrence Westbrook getting two points on the afternoon.
Today was the first game all season where Louisville garnered less than 10 offensive rebounds (8 according to yahoo, 5 according to cbs sportsline)
Samardo Samuels, one of the most heralded freshman in the nation scored 7 points, collected 4 rebounds, and blocked 4 shots. The less heralded freshman tandem of Colton Iverson and Ralph Sampson combined for 6 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 blocks.
Louisville's star forwards, Earl Clark and Terrence Williams, combined to shoot 10 of 28 from the field (35%)
The Gophers bench outscored Louisville's bench 35-8
My favorite stat of the day: The Gophers remain undefeated in the regular season against Louisville, adding a win in 2008 to wins in 1978 and 1980. 70-64
